Well, since nuuvem is now restringed to buy only in Brazil (or at least with brazilian prices) i was wondering if there is a way to still buy from it. Hola! is not a option, and Zenmate dont have a possibility to choose Brasil, so what do you guys suggest?

I did just that earlier today, and was able to buy from their Brazilian summer sale with my European Paypal account, no issues. Got me Remember Me, which is not available from my usual location.

Damnit I'm busted! I can barely find my way around the site, my Brazilian Portuguese language skills just aren't what they used to be ;-)

My Portuguese skills... Well, there aren't any, I only know few words. But how could you miss that large sign? :p

Is your PayPal Verified? From the wording it might be that. It is my understanding that you can buy from nuuvem if you are located in South America, not just Brazil, but I'd never tried it.

Wait, Nuuvem is restringed now? Isn't it the opposite?! They revamped the whole freaking site to be Global!!! (I prefer the old site T__T)

Good (cheap) deals are restricted to Brazil/South America.

The revamp made some games hidden, they can only be seen using a VPN. Before this update you only needed the VPN to buy some of their games.

So not only Deals, but Games altogether are hidden from the rest of the world.... '---'

Can anyone confirm this still works? I can't get any VPN I have tried to work with this. Including FlyVPN.

I've used tunnelbear recently and it works like a charm.
Note that some publishers are paypal locked, i.e. it won't accept a paypal using a non-south american credit card.

I used a vpn to buy GTA V for 20 a while back. You just needed the vpn to add the game to the cart, after that you could turn it off. Leaving the vpn on when you pay can create issues anyway, like paypal triggering a security verification.

I see prices in R$ , Brazilian currency, so what's the deal then about Global?

And I'm from Spain, for example http://www.nuuvem.com/item/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r costs R$22,99, which is ~6,6€$. I still see the normal prices this site always had, so what's the deal?

many games from nuvem's catalog are hidden behind an IP check,.before this update you could see every game they had and only needed a VPN for buying some games, now you need the VPN to see their sales and to buy the games.

Ok, I tried this morning and that's what I found:

  • FlyVPN works like a charm (I didn't have to disconnect it during the process)
  • you can add everything you want to your basket
  • after making payment with paypal, if there is a region-locked product (I mean locked at the Steam level), you paypal region is checked and whole process cancelled if it doesn't match (tested with Kholat)
  • if no region-locked product is in the basket, everything goes well

Well, nuuvem is not totally dead then.

I don't think the issue is if you have to disconnect, but rather if you want to pass your paypal credentials through unknown sources.

You are perfectly right, the real risk is not to be unable to buy but to be victim of a "man in the middle" attack. I never had any problem with the (only 2) VPN services I've ever used with paypal, but people have to know that there is a risk if the VPN provider is evil.

What I wrote 2 days earlier seems to be not accurate any more. I made a purchase yesterday with VPN for a game not displayed as steam-region-locked: it worked BUT the game does not appear in my library. Nuuvem support told me this morning:
[...] We have detected an issue on order processing and, currently, we are working to fix it. Hopefully, your game will be available on your Nuuvem account by Monday. [...]
I tried to buy something today with VPN, I had the message about region lock (after authorizing paypal payment) for a game that is NOT region-locked at the steam level. Of course Nuuvem didn't take anything from my paypal account in this case...
So, for now, either they are blocking all "brazil price" purchases from PP accounts that are not in the good region, either their order processing system has to be checked again later.
