Hello, people of steamgifts. As you probably noticed by the title, I am going to give away Bully: Scholarship Edition, which is my favorite game EVER. But there's a catch. It's my favorite game ever, so did you really expect me to just hand it over to you? Nope!

Try to persuade me with your most convincing way that 1) you will actually play the game very soon AND 2) that you are sure you are going to enjoy it.

Don't just tell me "Don't worry, I'm going to play it" - I want you to actually convince me that you will do that. From the comments, I'm going to choose soon 5 to 10 people (depending on the number of comments) and give them the private link of the giveaway for this game. I haven't created the giveaway yet, but I will do it after I choose the participants. I have already bought the game as a gift, so don't worry, I won't change my mind.

Also, there are no level restrictions for this future giveaway. Anyone can participate as long as I'm not in their blacklist or they are not in my blacklist.

Let the Bully games begin. :B

Current participants
1) shakeebthe1
2) loveforlife
3) AwesomePandaax
4) MuahahahaMeow
5) Celtic7Guardian
6) shadowshiv
7) LemonDrops

I've heard good things about it, and kinda interested since it feels almost like a Open World Visual Novel, with so many different routes and possibilities (or just an indie version of Akiba's Trip, if you can run around stripping people ;P). Certainly something I'd be willing to give a genuine try when in the mood for something relatively simple; my Hidden Object collection received a bit of love recently because of such... lol

Though, my backlog is already far too long as it is... I've been limiting my entries for a while now. I still only enter what I know for fact I will one day play, but some games end up on that backlog for weeks at a time, unfortunately...

Yep I'm huge Rockstar fan and I love almost every game they make. I actually bought bully already but store the game as gift,(thats my way to backlog the good games which I buy through steam, also the other gifts there I hove no intention to play.) So I also will try to win this game in SG and If I do win it I will create a giveaway with my gift :)

It's a cool game I enjoyed it very much when I played it on the PS2. GTA but in school! Woot :p No need to add me, I simply don't think I would have the time to replay it. This is just a friendly bump, I hope you'll find a winner who will actually play and enjoy this great game ;)

Bully has nothing to do with GTA. >:( GTA is full of criminals and lethal weapons. Bully has non-lethal weapons and Jimmy has never commited any crimes. ^_^ Well, except some really minor ones. :P Thanks for the bump and I hope so too. ;P

Well it's more child friendly than GTA and it has a few different game mechanics, but the town exploration, the side jobs, the collectables, the driving, the humor ... felt like GTA to me :p Similar to how Red Dead Redemption felt like GTA in the old west :D

Hmmm, I used to play it on the PS2 never managed to finish it because uhm.. "someone" thought it was inappropriate for me to keep playing it
so they took it away from me.

I would've bought it on steam already but downside is can't see it on the store!

No, just can't access the store page because steam gives me the "unavailable in your region" thingy. u_u

And this means that it is banned in your region. So, will you actually be able to activate it and play it if you win? Also, will you try to play it soon?

At least in Austria it's not in the Steam store but I was able to activate a key purchased from GMG without any problems.

Yes obviously :D I didn't even know Green Man Gaming sells keys for other platforms as well.
But I remembered wrong anyway: I just checked the thread about completing my Rockstar collection I made back then and it was Manhunt that isn't purchaseable in my local Steam store but activated without problems.
I just bought Bully there because it was the other game I was missing and it was cheaper there than on Steam at that time.

Yesterday I have got my master degree, so my studying is over and now I have plenty of time to play games what I was wanted to play for a long time and Bully in that list :) I never played it before, so it would be fun to me much more than somebody to replay it :)

I like action-adventure games, especially where I can walk around to look in every corner:) Also I read it has some GTA vibe, and I love and play Vice City and SA since school time. I don't know what to say more, and it's not so easy because I don't really good with english :)

And why are you even telling me that? XD That's why I asked for a convincing reason. Also, not everyone has money to spend on steam to buy games. If you have, then go buy your own games.

I've had it on my wishlist for a while (since November 23rd 2014) and I was actually contemplating getting it this sale, but I decided against it as I have already spent $50. I'm pretty sure I'll like it as I LOVE adventure and open world games. Like, a LOT. They're generally really fun. And the graphic style is pretty nice. It just looks really fun and I know I'd play it soon, as lately I've been wanting a bit more adventure games (like today I bought Ether One- so far, it's a really neat adventure game. Like I said- I love adventure games lol.

Thank you for the possible chance, and good luck to everyone!

I've always been curious about Bully. I'm not someone interested in GTA, and a lot of people have said it's basically GTA-lite. But I've also heard that it tackles some interesting story points and has some unique characters. I will play just about any game for good stories and characters. So I did recently decide that I want to give it a try.

As for playing it quickly... Well, I prioritize playing games I get as gifts over ones I buy. I like writing reviews for them, and I enjoy spreading the word/analyzing why they are successful (or not so successful). I'll make a special promise for this one: if it's okay to do this in the off-topic section of the site, and if I win the game, I'll immediately make a playthrough topic of me going through it for your (and hopefully other people's) entertaining pleasure. =P

No, it's not like GTA. >:( GTA is about doing crimes and using lethal weapons to kill people. Jimmy Hopkins, the protagonist of Bully, isn't a degenerate. :( First of all, you have to understand, something that most people haven't understood yet, that Bully isn't about being a bully, but about giving a lesson to the bullies and all the cliques in the school (and outside of it). But indeed, Bully has many unique things. ;P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That is a huge relief. The thing I hate about GTA is the pointless violence. What you've said sounds a lot more interesting. =) Thanks for reassuring me, and I'm definitely on board with giving it a go!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

To be honest, if you actually want to hit kids or give them wedgies in this game, then be my guest. But the whole point of Bully is letting Jimmy give a lesson to the cliques because of their shitty behavior. Of course, you will have a rival too, but I don't want to spoil anything. :P Anyway, if you're going to play it soon and review it too, then I guess I'll put you in the list. But are you sure you will?

I don't know if I'm worthy of an invite since I've played the game several times already, but here I still am! Ready to offer a loving home to such deserving game. The enjoyment isn't even a question; Bully is a phenomenal game with a good story and a huge cast of diverse and complex characters. The only downside to Bully is that it's too short, I would've loved to play it for a lot longer and get to know more details about the smaller characters that didn't get much time in the spotlight. It's been too long since I replayed it and I've never played it on PC, so I would definitely get on that as soon as I'm able to if I had the game completing my library. ;P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not short. It has many missions and side missions. And if you want to complete it 100%, it will take you some time. ;P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, not enough! There's only five chapters of story after all. I wish it had more, because it simply is too short for such a huge world and great concept. The potential could've been there for many, many more hours.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I still insist that it takes time to do everything, even to complete the photo album of all the students. ;P And also, the game allows you to continue playing after the ending.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Actually in my opinion the photo album doesn't take much time at all when you know where you can find everyone. :D
And I don't count endless summer since you don't get more story or insight into characters and their relationships. Sure you can keep collecting rubber bands and doing high scores for the arcade games etc if you hadn't already done all that, but that's not story. I enjoyed looking for all the mini stuff, of course, and went for 100% every time but tl;dr: favorite game is always too short.

I've played all the games I've won here, with only one exception. And in that case, I explained it to the giveaway creator and gave him the option to reroll it. Unless they're wishlisted like that one, I don't enter for games that I don't intend to put at the top of my backlog and try out ASAP. That said, I've been entering for this game every time I see it.

As far as enjoying it, well, I've 100%ed GTA III and San Andreas, finished Vice City, and played a couple of other Rockstar titles on consoles. San Andreas is my seventh most played game on Steam, so it should be obvious that I like their style.

but in the sale the game was realeased 2 days ago, so finally i can have it but I only have R$2,50 reais(money) in the wallet and its R$8,00 right now

I remember when I 100%ed the game back on PS2, but about a month later the game disc snapped and I wasn't able to play it again. :(
I didn't even know the game was on PC until the sale started and found it on sale for only $3. I've been really feeling of getting the game over the Max Payne bundle just because I loved that game and would really love to play it again, now would be a great time as next week is School Holidays and I would have abundance of time to play such a glorious game.
