Overwatch could not be an e-sport at all, they're already killing whatever they have tried to make for the competitive scene of that game...

The PTR client is there as a joke, feedback never get listened to and they just ship anything they want anyway, so even with the PTR being there, and people playing it and giving feedback, no one has an insensitive to play it anymore to test things, teams just use it to scrim newer patches...

Everyone on the PTR has said the bastion changes with 35% damage reduction would kill competitive and that is exactly what it has done, they don't just make 1 change and look how it goes, they just throw "yolo" things out and see how the community reacts and then they change something when the community gets mad.. That's now how you balance an e-sports, or a game at all....

Blizzard has always catered their games to the casual person and I sincerely doubt they will change with that approach in Overwatch purely because it could be considered a (tier 2) e-sport.
