Groupees is… strange. First, this high price and limited quantity wanted to suggest something great and exclusive for the 25th anniversary of Be Mine, but now they throw in more in hopes of selling more blindly purchased bundles? I mean, marketing is not a particularly complex thing (after all, if it would be, it wouldn't attract the most brain-dead people on the human race after scientology and politics), so someone should at least feel that it can be interpreted as mixed message.

I doubt it, at least with the humble monthly there's the fact that the first LoG was previously bundled by HB 3 times.
It'd be weird if the devs decide to bundle their newer game with groupees instead of trying with the first one. Remember that bundling a game can decrease its percieved value.

That's incredibly unlikely, given that the art was done before Miller had confirmed he could get the monthly game added. So theoretically none of the art should in any way relate to it.
And as noted, this is a 'Mother's Day' bundle [that's the day it got posted up as 'Soon'], so it's hard to know if that bit means anything- though the 'rule' bit does seem to indicate that it might.

The (sold) counter doesn't subtract when they 'put a bundle back on the shelf', as far as I'm aware.
It's certainly possible they added more, but th haven't given any indication they did, and 'bundle restocking' has happened every previous limited quantity bundle, so I don't see any reason to suspect it [unless you're assuming they're doing it every time, I suppose :P]

Well, in my head it was more like... They manage to get me on this "limited" preorder train, and Miller expains in chat that they had to make it limited preoders because it was "waaay to cheap" compared to what they were able to sell it for, no I don't have a print saved for this sadly.
Then it's not that limited after all, that's my point :) No need to rush and stress people to preoder it because they are afraid of running out of time before they decide, and wait for games to get confirmed/hints instead.

Its still the 4500 limit the bot just doesn't take bundles off because its not programed that way.

For limited bundles the purchase system works differently as there is only a set amount as soon as u click buy its assigned to you as for a standard bundle it waits for payment before getting added to the tally.
Also them previous BM's within the last 6 - 12 months have only got the 4-5k preorders.

The OP also mentioned that the bundle'd launch early if preorder supplies were finished off, which staff never said, and then later outright nixxed when asked about it.
Rache does what she can, but she's not always given 100% accurate information- and like you, many users assumed that 'rising bundle count meant more bundles added'.
As far as the 'no need to rush', Cyanic himself said there wasn't any need to rush, with a 48 hour preorder.
Don't confuse limited quantity with a Groupees marketing ploy, that kind of thing is almost always determined by publishers who don't want to sell too many copies at a certain price.
(Likewise, keep in mind that while Miller has been deeply embedded in recent bundles, he's still not Groupees staff, so you can't take his word as being an absolute representation of the staff's circumstances or mindset.)
Again, just saying that there's no grounds to immediately jump to a witchhunt- especially since, even with extra bundles added, that's not a bad thing. Again, if you consider it hype, that's fine, but Groupees never outright indicated it as such [and rather, implied that they expected preorder quantity to last through most/all of the preorder period].
Even if they did manage to get more bundles added at a cheaper price for us, that'd be a good thing for us, not a bad thing.
In other words, think of it more as Amazon or Ebay 'quantity left'- you can make purchasing decisions based on that, but getting upset because that number got increased as new stock came in or got processed, is a bit silly, at least unless there was an outright indication by the seller that that wouldn't happen.

Well, Talos, Street Fighter, Besiege, Mad Max, and Fran Bow- I think those are the only Monthlies I'm still missing [that I care about].
So Talos is pretty much the only option [unlikely as it may be] that would benefit me directly. :P
Still, I've a high opinion of a lot of the indie games in monthlies, so I'll likely end up with something nice to give someone else, then. :)

The higher value coins are a pain because you don't get change back.
Pretty much the only bundles that are worth using larger value coins on are the comic or JAST (adult anime) game bundles. They're pretty much the only bundles that cost more than a few dollars/euro max.
If you don't like those, your best bet to get value for your coin is to find someone that wants to buy a gift bundle of one of those.

That aside, there's plenty of traditional rogue-likes with much better presented quality [read the negative reviews, the game sounds pretty awful ;P], and basically all of them have gotten to the point of offering graphics reskins.
From what I've seen of the gameplay, the game just doesn't look like it compares to other traditionally-styled rogue-likes (eg TOME or Vulture), or modern interpretations like Dungeons of Dredmor and Sword of the Stars: The Pit- and that's not getting into all the amazing rogue-lites we've got floating around these days.
Well, still better that people are able to enjoy it, there's enough games on Steam already that cater to only a very small number of masochistic? individuals.
But I'm right there with you, with not wanting it to be included :P
Then again, I basically already own all the monthly games we've currently playing around with as options, other than Talos Principle, so... I'm likely to be finding a new home for the included monthly game in any case. :P
