This might be a good reason to actually use their launcher for once. Exclusivity doesn't sway me since I have patience. But exclusive and free?

Not sure how it helps their launcher to have a person not pay them and just leech a game, but fair enough.

You probably need it to install or maybe play the game. But the game is not out yet. So I just said you dont need it to actually add the game. You can do it on epic store page.

Yup, was talking about the game mainly. Wouldn't really even mention it if all I did was just add the game to my account. I see no gain in just putting stuff on my account anymore.

Buys them some good will.
As your "free" library grows, you spend more time using it. Habit forms.
When you're using it all the time, you might end up buying a game or two.
...
Profit! Also, they stole your steam usage data to know what games to poach :p

Yet no one's been talking shit about Origin for a long time. People are all fine with EA having Origin, staying exclusive there and so on. Sure, some complaints, but you can't really even compare it to the shitstorm that used to be.

Nah yeah, you raise good points. Though I won't really buy from a platform that actively tries to persuade me to not use it, I still get that it's just me and it's still usually good business practice.
