I also get curious when I land on someone's whitelist. Maybe yours is your generous ratio or adorable cat pics :P

I'm yet to wonder about that... So I think there's something good about not being whitelisted at all: fewer things to be confused about.

Ratio is one reason, active/contributing on the forums, generally being nice or helpful, many reasons to give a WL. Welcome to mine :-)

Definitely! I understand people randomly checking profiles and adding them to either list based on their findings, but I also received some during inactivity so I don't know.
Personally I used to whitelist everyone with a good ratio, but nowadays I keep it to people playing their games because I'd like to safely giveaway wishlisted games as well.

I can't remember why I whitelisted you, it was a year ago according to the SG's whitelist page. I should start making notes for people I whitelist. I also have you on steam friends list but can't remember interactions with you, I assume we traded at one point.

Anyway I assume most people whitelist you because of your ratio. I don't whitelist for such things though, which would mean you're probably a nice and positive person.

I don't concern myself with why people white or black list me anymore. Sometimes I'm really nice and sometimes I'm a jerk, so I "deserve" both lists I guess. It's up to people to decide which side of me they like or hate more.

I'm on two blacklists right now and it happened after I called someone out for leaving automated comments on giveaways. I guess those people thought the calling out was just random rudeness. But I guess I was indeed kinda rude. I apologized to the guy afterwards.

I whitelist people when they have a good ratio and if I have the time I like to check out their Steam profile to see if they actually play games. Often when something makes me laugh I instatnly whitelist the person in the absence of an "upvote" option.

Yeah, it can be a bit awkward, having to explain why someone ended up on your whitelist when you barely had any interactions with the said person, but in my book, it's perfectly reasonable to whitelist users who come across as decent/nice persons and contribute to the forums through level headed, well written and intelligent posts. Generosity, having a good sense of humor and sharing similar values/views are also good reasons to WL someone.

I would rather have it that way than make a public WL recruitment based on ratio/level alone, since most of the recruited users will reciprocate and it just ends up as trading "whitelists for whitelists", which, I take it, is rather frowned upon by the community. I may be wrong, but I like to view this place as more than just about gifting/wining games.

Anyway, don't fret about it :) That's just karma, if you do something good, it would come back to you and you get rewarded, it's just a way for people to show appreciation.

Whitelisted! ;D

These are the things I look for when whitelisting someone:

• They play their wins (1/3 played minimum)
• They have at least an OK ratio (close to 1:1 , or better)
• They've given away good games (extra points for unbundled, but not necessary)
• They do whitelist giveaways (participate in the 'whitelist giveaway community' so to speak)
• They are nice and helpful members of the community.

I always wonder, and it's always a mystery.

Over the past week I've gotten onto 4 Whitelists and just today I got onto 3 Blacklists. I'm delighted and puzzled by the Whitelists, and disappointed and perplexed by the Blacklists. I can guess as to why, but I'll never really know.

But I figure as long as the Whitelists greatly outnumber the Blacklists, I'm doing something right, so I'll keep doing what I do and keep being delighted by the Whitelists while not worrying about the Blacklists.

I always wonder those things, how do you get into whitelists? hahahah
I don't get into any since I'm poor and can only give away cheap games from bundles, but I think it's a really nice gesture, and you seem to be a very nice person, so I guess it would be because of that or/and your ratio :P
But of course, the most important reason, the cat gifs. That's it, for sure.

I normally don't care when people blacklist me for whatever reasons, but I am until today very sad of the time when I had a missunderstanding with an owner of a group because of something that wasn't even on the rules and from night to day I got blacklisted by 12 people because of that, and I hadn't even done anything wrong, I got a little bit traumatized ever since (T⌓T)
