...preparing for the last exam of the year. Everyone's gone. I don't feel like myself anymore. My boy is in his home town, and he may not be coming back. We spent the last year practically living together. I miss him horribly. I feel empty. Now, I know my priorities, I know what I have to do, but I'm too sad and lonely for studying. Ugh!

When I'm not sad, I'm bored out of my mind!

Anyone have some studying tips?
Or at least some advice on how to get rid of this crippling loneliness.

Thanks for listening.

Music is always a solution for me~
Preferably something without lyrics, or in a language you can't really understand, so your mind won't get distracted by them :)

Also, good luck for the exam!

That's what helps me study. I created a Pandora station for the genre "Psy Trance" and it works well.

Take short breaks every now and then. It helps.

I haven't "studied" in a while, but whenever I feel bored I find something to make me laugh. A good film, or an entertaining game usually does the trick. But most of the time work keeps me busy, so I don't have time to feel lonely!

Call? Text? Skype?

Failing that, keep reminding yourself that feelings aren't real, while exams are?

Actually, I dunno. I also have big exam in one week, and I just can't be bothered to study as well.

Feelings are real, but they're all in your head. You can change them at the drop of a hat by changing what's in your head. It's not always easy to do, but it is possible.

To help with the studying, break up the task into small, attainable goals and track your progress. Eat healthy, take regular breaks, and don't forget to schedule time to relax. Your brain needs rest, too. Also, make sure you get enough sleep so your mind can sort out everything you're learning. Hydration is important, but most people do that automatically.

As for the chemical reaction to suddenly being alone, exercise helps. vigorous exercise pumps you full of the same endorphins you get from being around your beau. It also keeps you in shape so that your body runs more efficiently.
