I wanted to try it but kinda forgot to do so, guess it's too late to bother now.
This is such an annoying issue with multiplayer games, if you don't play them soon they just go away after a while, meanwhile I can catch up with single player games a couple of decades later and enjoy them just the same.

If you've played one live services game you've played them all.

Yeah, no, not really.
My most played mp game is Rocket League, which is a racing-football hybrid, so I don't think that's much similar to let's say a competitive FPS (pick your preferred big name series). I get that all of them use the same monetization schemes and psychological tricks to keep the players around and active, since they're all constantly analyzing their competition, but there is variation as far as basic gameplay mechanics go.
If they were really all the same it'd be like how a few MMORPGs dominate the market and choke any potential competitor.

Epic will go on to make another live services game which will have all the same problems and also fold.

The jury is out on whether this lasts longer than Lawbreakers.

If they can strike another Fortnite, I guess it's worth a having a dozen failed projects along the way. It's easy to mock companies like EA, Epic, Squenix and so on for all their failed live service games, but I'm pretty certain that they're well aware of these games being a big gamble, with a potentially high payout for when someone finally strikes it big. Just wish the whole business model that these games, pretty much all of them really, wasn't so consumer unfriendly (which is really highlighted by Squenix recent closures)

+1 They must have done a terrible job marketing this, whatever it was.

Perhaps they thought, that they have now enough users on epic launcher so it will advertise itself, but they not realised yet that majority going there only for the free games. Also +1, never heard about this game until today, but not my kind of genre either.

It's a really fun game. Worth checking out if you like that genre.

If it does close down it wouldn't be surprising unfortunately. The viewership is really low on twitch. It's probably not getting the pop they want or the money needed to be sustainable.

I've seen it on EGS but never bothered to look into it cuz it looked like Fortnite. Battle Royale brawler sounds like fun and maybe I'll try it out if they don't pull the plug

You know they did a poor job handling and promoting it when you see that this is the first time many gamers have even heard of it.

I saw a bunch of people streaming it on TikTok when it came out, but other than that.. yeah, no one really cared for it

I tried it. The premise was good, the game in theory was good, but it was riddled with cheaters.
I don't think anyone wants to play a game where someone with cheats can ruin the spirit of the game.
