So I won a giveaway few weeks ago. Reminded creator that I might have been the only one who didn't receive their game (from maybe 50 total giveaways). And he/she made a response that he/she was okay with getting one not-received feedback in thousands of others.
And just now, I was scrolling into messages and found out that creator corrected the key, edited the message and blacklisted me. Now, here's my question: do you see sarcasm somewhere from my side? I'm asking honestly, I don't like sarcasm, I don't even know what sarcasm is to start with.

Here's what I can see as I've been blacklisted:

Here's the original giveaway that I won: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/YVge8/poker-night-at-the-inventory

And here's the giveaway for the trouble: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway B3cge/smile-for-me

Thanks in advance for helping me clear my thoughts!

I don't understand why did you mention the number of giveaways they made in the first place, that seems like an odd thing to do.

  • You could've contacted the creator of the giveaway sooner. (3 weeks is a long time)
  • "And I had no more obligations to contact you through Steam or Email - if I don't receive the game, I don't. That changes nothing. It just adds red feedback on your account here and that, you could notice by yourself sooner or later." This also seems like a thing you didn't have to say.

All in all, the creator blacklisted you, because they can and probably wants to avoid any more interactions with you. (and yes, it kinda sounds sarcastic)
Happy cakeday!

edit: You also say, that they edited the message, if I/we can't see what the original one was about, it's hard to judge if the stuff you wrote was justified.

From my understanding creator had pressed sent but forgot to add key.

After two weeks you pressed not received and wrote a message that after thousands of sent they forgot to send. Now I dont know what the exact respons from creator was concidering it was edited. But if it was something still about not being contaced so he couldnt know anything was wrong. And you answer: But I did contact you, I wrote here and I have no other obligations. Then yeah, this is kind of a sarcastic answer concidering its been two weeks until a respons, and you say that comment was your contact.

That's true tho. Creator has 1 week to deliver the key. I reminded them to send the key after 1 week passed. I don't have to be called out for not contacting them sooner.

It was 1 week of not receiving, I just said that 3 weeks was the time giveaway ended and that I just noticed newly added key,

Keys could have all sorts of problems and i would hate if winner instead of contact me if there is a problem just hit "not received" and done with it. I don't care much about blacklists and find it silly to hold grudges in this lovely community, but i think you could have contact giver sooner, of course you not formally obliged to do it but i think its just polite thing to do.

No, I didn't wait ages. I just said giveaway was 3 weeks ago and I just noticed newly added key. I contacted creator right after 1 week ended,

I didn't ask key to be provided, I just tried to remind they might've forgotten to add key.
And they blacklisted me, plus their profile says they don't add anyone + comments are disabled. So I had no way to ask them directly.

And no, I'm not saying who's in wrong or right. I just honestly asked what's sarcastic in my replies.

Maybe you shouldn't be so demanding on your wins, because that is what they are. You pay nothing for it. So, if the person (who actually bought it) has any trouble providing the key stay patient and polite, most of the times there are solutions and if not, you still can use the blocklist or the non receive button.
In my opinion you should've contacted the person directly and get your feelings on the table instead of doing a public complaint.

Anyway: Happy Cakeday.

They blackisted me, doesn't add people on Steam. So I really just wanted to ask people if how I reacted originally was sarcastic or not.

Your first reply was likely misinterpreted. I can see it reading as sarcastic just as well as I can see it being an honest message of disappointment.

Your second reply sounds a bit harsh due to the specific wording ("obligation" in particular, and the generally aggressive wording of other parts of the message) and it makes me go check to see if your Steam profile is from a country that doesn't primarily speak English.

I would chalk this up to a miscommunication and move on.

He/she edited replies. If I remember correctly, he/she scolded me for not messaging sooner.
And yes, I'm not native English speaker and what I said means nothing bad in my knowledge.

As Mayanaise stated, this is calling out and against site rules. Remove the link to the giveaway in question, otherwise you risk a suspension.

If you are genuinely asking whether you were misinterpreted (i.e. by being sarcastic) you can do so by just quoting the conversation without including user identifying details.

"Thanks for your replies tho, hope you're having great holidays."

This comment of yours could easily be interpreted as sarcasm. You are having a disagreement with someone, and then finish it with 'oh, have a great holiday'.

What's wrong with wishing good to anyone?
I can't quote whole conversation as I'm blacklisted on the page.

Nothing, but it was immediately after having a disagreement with them so could be interpreted as sarcasm. You asked for opinions, I gave you one.

I can't quote whole conversation as I'm blacklisted on the page.

Seems like people in the other part of the world see everything differently. That concludes answer to my question. End of the post.
Thanks to everyone for reminding me that I should never try to say as simple things as "thanks" my winnings. As they live in different world and might perceive thanks as rude.
