i believe theyre being released simultaneously and sony has done a decent job with their pc ports (other than horizon at launch, but that has received frequent patching). its unrealistic to expect PC to be the lead platform for a sony first party remake.

Just to clarify, this isn't the same game that was released in 2013, this will be a remake, with completely new models, assets etc. I imagine they might polish the gameplay a bit too.

I'd buy vanilla ps3 version on pc today for 20 bucks rn. This upgrade just doesn't worth extra 40-50 bucks.

Finished the second game a couple of days ago myself. Prefer the original, but more because it seems like the second had very few puzzles compared to the first, and if didn't really take advantage of the clicker / human conflict feature they included in the DLC. At least I got to release a few chained up clickers in one location.

Just to clarify the Last of Us 2 sold 10 million copies by 2022 Spring and Ghost of Tsusima sold 8 by 2022 January. Based on the latest datapoints, LOU2 sold more. So based on your assumption that must mean it did live up to the hype.

Not sure what your point is. A big franchise like Spiderman will get more sales, that's just common knowledge. LOU2 is kinda a nicher game, extremely violent, storyfocused, not for everyone. The other games on your list cater to larger audiences.
Still not sure why you think the story of Part1 will change. Changing it would mess woth the sequels storypoints so it wouldn't make any sense.

Honestly I'm not a fan of the graphical "updates" they're doing. I've already played it on PS3 but I was initially considering getting it on Steam just to have it in my collection there as well, but after seeing how they are making the characters themselves look worse, I doubt I'll get it after all.

Sorry Bumping old news but I have info from reviewer who play The last of us (original) and The last of us remake simultaneously: No changes beside graphics aka: no changes to music, VA (fun fact: Polish dub and sub STILL have same mistakes like older one) and important STORY..

I agree that $70 is too much for this remake, especially because it has no MP. But I just wanted to highlight there are substantial gameplay changes, especially when it comes to AI. Digital Foundry's video showcases it rather well. Still too little for the asking price, but just throwing it out there.

I won't say the graphical change is ugly, it looks like its still quality, but I do agree that it looks more cartoony and might make less likely to feel some empathy to the character as it makes it looks less real
