Yesterday I won a copy of FTL https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/MSoBu/ftl-faster-than-light
This morning my friend request was accepted and he sent over the gift. Everything seemed to be going well until I clicked the game and was confronted with a message about it not accepting my region.
Additionally, the game seems to have disappeared entirely now?!? While writing this I decided to click over to steam to double check the situation and to see if I had gotten a reply in the msger. This was when I noticed that I could no longer find the game anywhere. Neither in the gift area nor in my library...
So full of confusion now...
Anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here?

Try to contact the GA creator and ask him for/insist on a copy you can redeem or - if you don't wanna act like a total cuck ;) - just mark it as 'not received' if you're unable to come to terms with him or - IMO the best solution - agree with him on rerolling the GA, usually done by you writing your approval on the GA itself and him opening up a ticket with support.

Let me explain what happened
The new system is not allowing purchasing gifts (well except buying 4-packs...When you unpack it by adding 1 copy in ur library the other 3 will be stored as a gifts in your inventory)
So when he bought you a "gift" and sent it to you It was not a gift but an option to add It or decline It
If you press "Add to library" the game will be added
If you decline it this purchase will be restored and the person who bought it wil have his money back
So this gift is not gone he just got his money back cos u pressed decline
About region lock part
Just contact him again and ask for a row version
If he refuse to do so contact moderator and tell him this story about locked gift and they will solve it

Well in that case he(ga creator) was not getting his money back since it is a promo but he might have this copy in his inventory
Anyway the actions should be the same
Ask for a row copy and wait for 7 days
If nothing change then mark as unrecieved and contact moderators

I would assume that, since you couldn't activate the gift, steam returned the copy to the sender.

As to how to solve the GA situation, contact the giveaway creator and tell him of the issue. If he can't give you a copy for your region, you can mark not received after 7 days.

However, you can also agree to reroll the gift or allow the creator to delete the GA... this is what I would do in your situation (it has happened to me before a couple of times and that's how we solved it).

What should I do If I win a game that cannot be activated in my region, or if I receive a gift or key that does not match the game I won?
You should contact the giveaway creator to return the gift, and to inform them of the situation. If the giveaway creator is able to provide you with a replacement gift or key for the same game that can be activated in your region, then you should mark the gift as "Received". In all other cases, the gift should be marked as "Not Received". When marking a gift as "Not Received" it's recommended that you leave an explanation in the giveaway comments as a reference for both the giveaway creator and our support team. If the giveaway creator is not able to provide a replacement gift or key, they may ask your permission to delete the giveaway.

The gifter should not have been able to even gift the game to you in the first place. On the purchase page it details it is region locked if it is for the person receiving the gift.

Yes thats a free copy from a purchase of Into the Breach. I dont know it is regions locked.
The item is not in my item Inventory too.
What should I do lol? Maybe I should contact the Steam support

I can see that in gift history, the item seems already sent to Noctuabundus. I dont know whats going on.

It should automatically return to your inventory after 7 days.

had been talking to tlftommy about the various options while he tried reaching out to cust serv. eventually they ended up sending him a whole new squeaky clean key without any dirty dirty region stains. Then it was just a matter of opening my email to activate the humble link and then the fun was soon to be had :D
Glad it all worked out. Of course for the receiving but also, and arguably more so, for the sender. I was more than a bit concerned initially cuz I didn't want him being punished for some dumb confusing process and our communication wasn't great at first. Once we got around to talking then everything started coming together. I was ready to sign off on just killing the GA but fortunately for all he pulled it off in the end :)
