by this i mean that pretty much anybody interested in them will have already joined the beta group to get in on it

those that dont care about the cards will just sell them cheap to get rid of them for wallet funds for a game they are interested in

They'll more than likely decrease, as it's a community market. Increased amount of cards, means a drop in price.

I'd estimate that foil's will drop too. The most enthusiastic Steam users are already collecting the foils and are in the beta. When beta goes public, the price might drop.

Why would it increase? There will be a flood of them. Higher availability would result in the opposite.

Depends? You guys are saying it decreases due to increased supply. But there will also be increased demand. And secondly, anyone who cares about those cards might already have picked up a beta invite. They are not so hard to get. I assume it will drop a little, but not that much.

Wouldnt it increase if Series #1 stopped dropping and when Trading Cards becomes public starts with Series #2 making them rare and go up in price? You know... like trading cards? :D

I can tell the difference between foil and regular cards, but what's the difference between Series #1 and Series #2 cards?

We don't know. Yet.

Valve could do this once, but after that, everyone would keep their Series #2 forever, so there would be no cards in the market.

all depends on a game. TF2, L2D2 and other mainstream game cards will have very low price, while other games, that are quite rare, will have a price like 1$ for a single card.
