I have yet to get +1 (I think) or cards on a game that was added for free on Steam. Not that Im a +1 fan.
Cards, I actually enjoy collecting real and virtual cards.

I believe steam wont give +1 or card drops unless you spent some kind of money on the game like its DLC.

Tho if you get a key from outside of Steam for free, Steam doesnt know if you paid or not and treats it as you purchased it.
