Not necessarily a problem although that made me think that way we would have to make a rule that each month everyone would have to giveaway not the same thing. Like if Humble Bundle made another software bundle with dlcs for 1 dollar, and again steamgifts would be flooded with it ;p
The problem could be for you, since such bundled dlc from tier one - I personally just buy them and skip buying a soda that day ;p If it was from tier 2 (like in Humble Bundle, indiegala, bundlestar system), I don't see a problem. If its worth would be below 2 dollars (unlikely but..), you could do two copies giveaway.

I think the tie is right, steam is now doing weekly promotion every weak and its really easy to buy cheap dlc on steam http://store.steampowered.com/search/?category1=21&os=win&specials=1
While looking through your profile, I noticed I should've put Pinball FX2 on this - this game has shitload of dlc's...

just decided to write it down as one of the things since its easier to find dlcs for people who subscribe to this.
Biorąc pod uwagę że masz więcej gier niż ja, napewno masz takie same braki w dlc jak ja. Zrobiłem sobie wishlista z samych dlc i wyszło mi 1700 pozycji ;p

I like this idea. The abundance of DLC for many AAA titles are the one thing that's most keeps me from buying early these days. It's not so much that the products themselves are not worth it in the end but I just hate the feeling of being pressured into buying the same product multiple times. I realize that I'm not articulating my feeling very well but I recon some of you might recognize the feeling anyway :P
I'd be willing to join to see how things turn out. Some of the "rules" seem a bit unclear to me though as the points system and worth requirement.

I've used to participate in few giveaway groups in steamgifts like Elite Giveaways and Reborn and just copied it a bit, but still thinking this through. Just came up with the idea after i finally made my wishlist to contain only dlcs so I wouldn't miss any giveaway of that on steamgifts and the number was 1700...
I have similar feeling. At this point, I don't even feel like starting the game unless I win/get cheap all the dlcs first, since I feel like I am playing an incomplete game...

Only DLC giveaways... is actually a good idea. Too many DLC today.

it really feels like all developers/publishers decide what will be a dlc and what will be in a game way before they even make the game. And almost all indie creators puts soundtracks as dlc...making almost 50% all games steam games have at least one dlc.

Don't forget Day 1 DLC, sometimes even important DLC, like
SPOILER
Javik in ME3
I would like to be in a group like this.

that was such hit below the belt with EA. I actually haven't bought a copy of ME3 because of that - although didn't stop from playing from my friend account who did buy it...
But I don't think as stupid as Total War Warhammer pre-order dlc of Chaos...Chaos being literally the big bad guys and and main antagonists of warhammer universe (be it fantasy or 40k), turned into additional content. Thats new level of being an asshole ;p

definetely if someone is giving away a game for a game that is for free on steam, it would be best to make everyone subscribe to the forum group and make note that they need to install the main game to join, or perhaps erase the "Don't show DLCs for games you don't own" alltogether for best results.

I don't think it would be that hard ;p I stalked your profile for recent games a second ago, you have Civ6 that comes up with new dlc every month lately, then dishonour 1 had several if you don't have them already and more than few of your games have soundtrack dlcs , like Headlander. If you were to wishlist all dlcs, I think you would do it in 5 minutes and got 50 or more (Rocket League alone would make it easy).
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, yes, I could wishlist all the DLCs for all my games - but I probably don't want them all! Like half the Cities: Skylines or Rocket League DLC are just cosmetic rubbish, that I really don't need or want. You are correct that technically I could do it - but I wouldn't want people to base their purchases on things that I probably wouldn't appreciate fully.
Still, I think this is a great idea - I just think requiring 50+ wishlisted DLC is too much.
Comment has been collapsed.
thats actually a big pity. I will explain why I would encourage it - when you enter a group info on steamgifts, you can check out its "wishlist". You can then check how many people wishlisted specific DLC and if the number is bigger than 5, you can feel safe that your giveaway will count in the steamgifts system.
Its simply convenient.

Definetely a problem I stumbled myself more times that I am proud of. Thats what motivated me to wishlist all the DLCs - if I see a DLC giveaway on the main page, but I don't see it in wishlist page, its probably a dlc I already have (I sometimes rush entering giveaways so I can use up all my points before their reach 300p) and can immediately put hidden status on it.
Not gonna lie though, wishlisting all those dlcs took me the same amount of time I needed to binge watch tv series "Black Adder".

I never actually gave that a thought.I can agree there is a lot of DLC to be had want proof look at my profile..

I have almost as much DLC as I do actual games. The games I own are a bit inflated and I still have some games I want to remove that I added just for cards.
Also another game with a crap ton of DLC is Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor. The sad thing is several games I am still missing DLC for so that figure shall go higher if I ever buy the missing DLC.

I have 3273 games and 922 DLCs, but I decided to wishlist all DLCs (and only DLCs) I don't have and that number reached 1783 (And I still from time to time notice I missed some, so I'm sure I missed around 200 dlcs). Seriously, I could literally have almost 1:1 ratio to game:dlcs at this point in my account if I bought them all.
But the industry won't change, DLCs are here to stay.

Could've also added Stardock Entertainment (Fallen Enchantress, Sins of Solar) and Avalanche Studios (Just Cause series) there as well as they like to make a list of cosmetics to increase their profits, but I knew that the list was long enough as it was ;p

I like DLCs, to a fair degree so I'll voice my interest in this project of yours.
Also, if you know anyone in the public DLC Giveaways group you might reach out to them individually to assess their interest.

personally just waiting for 30+ interested people here. It might take a while but starting a group for dlc giveaways with less people wouldn't work. It would work for regular non-bundled games (you would always get at least 5 entries) but with DLC we need more potential entries.

I like the idea, but I don't find a whole lot of opportunity to get DLCs cheap (that's probably why I have so many on my wishlist!).
I do giveaways for things I got on sale, and DLCs don't always get the decent discounts that the main games sometimes get.
Will this group also encourage/help members to exchange info on DLC sales and such? That would be neat--it would kind of help itself achieve its own purpose.

I think with steam giving weekly specials every week now, its the perfect time to try such group. Just need to be patient and stock up.
http://store.steampowered.com/search/?category1=21&specials=1. Also I think the fact a lot of dlcs are not bundled would simply boost a lot of memebers ratio of bundled/non-bundled giveaways.
As for sales - yes, this is what I hope we could achieve - I want people to have easy time doing it. Although at this point all I can come up with is ask people to subscribe to a thread in group forum and post any new finds.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford to make giveaways at this time XP saving for Uni, but best of luck with your endeavor ^_^

Trust me xD if philosophy could still land you a job, i'd focus on it, but too many SJWs hate logic and philosophy as it hurts their feels, I'm not suffering through a babied down course for their sake (i'd be expelled within record time). Gunna double major in Japanese Studies and Journalism (still risking being expelled for a take no bs attitude xD)

Thanks for the bump :) Number 300 of games felt right and achievable. With the amount of 1 dollar humble bundles and free crap we take for steam trading cards, its actually pretty easy to create several +100 game accounts now in matter of seconds and for 5 dollars max. As such, wanted to limit to users who definetely have a big incompete dlc list. Even at 249 games you have, I am sure the number of dlcs you don't have for your games could easily reach 100.

Thats 17 people. This is slightly over 50% of my minimum membership idea. Giving myself a bump to see if anyone else would be interested, otherwise, probably the idea may stay an idea or rethink the requirements.

I am seriously considering creating a group for only DLC giveaways. Since that would be my first group creation on steam ever, I would like to ask for some suggestion and who would be interested in participating in such group.
Here are some rules I thought up for the group
1) Level 4 or higher
2) Have at least 300 games in your account
(more likely to enter DLC giveaway and with so many free games coming out, its not really hard to get +100)
3) Have at least 10 titles out of this list of games which are filled with DLC (if you have 300 games, you definetely have them)
4) Giveaways would be made at beginning for the month. in first week, and would end at the end of the month
5) Giveways have to be worth more than 2 dollars (multiple can be made). Encouraging to do mainly non-bundled giveaways for bigger chance of getting 5 entries. Bundled dlc will be counted only for 50% of their worth - but not if the giveaways was made before the dlc got bundled.
6) No ratio, no blacklists, no whitelists/other groups, mendatory monthly giveaways.
7) It is encouraged for potential members to wishlist at least 50 dlcs before joining. (I have 1700 wishlisted ;p). It will help making giveaways by checking group wishlist.
Easy wishlists :

Such group would require at least 30 members (and that still would be not a lot to get 5 entries) for me to consider making it, so if anyone is interested or have any thoughts, I would gladly hear them out.
