Depends on what kind of Zombie movie we're talking about.
Straight zombie? Gotta go with Granddaddy Romero. Personally I prefer Dawn of the Dead to Night of the Living Dead.
Speed Freak style? Go with the Rage zombies from 28 Days Later.
Action Comedy with Zombies? Zombieland
Romantic comedy with zombies? Shaun of the Dead.
Romantic zombie movie? Warm Bodies.

This short was stellar however. As the father of a 5 year old daughter, I am not ashamed to admit mostly anonymously on the internet that that totally made me cry.

I've only seen Zombieland and Shawn of the Dead, so those'll have to be my picks for now.

Its funny.. you can basically tell by the comments who are the older crowed vs the younger ones.

For me. Night, Dawn, and Day all hold special places in my heart. I mention all three due to for me, for various reasons it is difficult to pick just one of them above the others. All had great moments.

Now I admit. I do like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, heck I even liked Land of the Dead despite the fact that it was not very popular amongst fans of Romero's films.

Also.. was it not that due to the Romero films Zombies became classified as undead? Then why all the pickings of 28 days? They are living people with a disease.. they die out simply from starvation or bloodloss ( they kill themselves eventually due to both things ) they will die from any normal attack that a human can die from as well. I felt it was an ok movie as it was, but it had a LOT of holes in it that I simply could not ignore. ( The actions of the military, actions of others as well. It was a bit of a mess really. ) Now, if we are going to loosen up the terms, then I am shocked no one has mentioned any of the "Voodoo zombie" movies such as "White Zombie" and "The Serpent and the Rainbow". They where good films for what they where back in the day.

Well I guess it could have been worse.. someone could have said "Evil Dead" was the best one zombie film... ( Before anyone says anything.. they are freaking demons.. ) EDIT And I realize.. someone did mention it.. you soo deserve to be punched in the crotch by a bear! :P

No mention of Kung Fu Zombie yet ?
It's a good mix of martial arts, necromancy and comedy

Eh? I admit, have not watched it yet. When you said it though I could not help but think of a roleplaying game called "All Flesh Must be Eaten" and its "Enter the Zombie" rulebook that adds various martial arts to the rules :P

Depending on the "ZM" the game can be very interesting.

Weel I haven't seen it in years, so I don't know how well it aged. But I thought it was hilarious when I saw it first, being a teenager at the time..

I find it interesting that no one mentioned Fido yet...
But I am not into zombie movies at all, despite liking the comedies.
