If you tried to activate them on your account when you already own it, it will just say you own it. If it was unused, it remains unused. The problem is, if it was already used, it will say you already own it. It won't tell you it is already used.

better don't giveaway keys that you are not sure if work or not, just imagine the happiness of some people when they win a game... vanishing into thin air...

If the key was previously unused, yes, it won't be "wasted". But you won't be able to see if it's unused or not by trying it on an account that already owns the game.

Here's the deal: I've got few keys to giveaway, but i want to check them first.
I already have this game on my account, so if I try to activate them, Steam will say that i already own the game.
Question is, will the keys work after that? They should be, right?
