Now that's good news. I love King's Bounty games. Well, the 2008+ ones - I've never tried the old originals.

the original King's Bounty was awesome, but primitive by today's standards. However, it was followed by the Heroes of Might and Magic series, which is fantastic, and the third game in the series is still the best.

The reboot series is much closer to Heroes of Might and Magic 3 than the original King's Bounty OR the other HoMM games, which is a good thing.

In some ways HoMM3 is better than any other game in any version of either series - while it plays just like the modern King's Bounty games, it's got a better campaign structure, better levels, etc, but it still is a 20 year old game, with all the issues that come with older games. If you're into classic gaming or a series enthusiast, it's a must-play game (far more than the original King's Bounty)

Nice! Hope they don't fuck up the series like with what Ubisoft has done with Heroes of Might & Magic.....

Well... if it's more King's Bounty: Armored Princess / Crossworlds and less King's Bounty: Warriors of the North / Dark Side I'm totally on board.

Thank you for the highlight, I've yet got onto the 1st series but I am a big fan of HoMM III. Cheers, Cruse~

It is not HoMM III but I think all the games in the series are great in their own way but you have to change how you think about army and losses in battles if you have HoMM III mindset :)

I read that it was King's Bounty that inspired the HoMM series. How different are the army losses about? :)

You need to be more careful as most of the times you recruit your army on the road so you want most of them to survive till the end of the level. But yes this game inspired HoMM.

For me all the Kings Bounty games are better than HoMM games while I still loved to play HoMM III when I was young. HoMM VI was bad and boring.

Interesting so what does your castle do mainly if any and what are the structures that allow you to recruit units. Does the same race matter in the game like in HoMM for morale? :D

There are units in castles but also in inns, houses and many different places on the map and if I remember correctly morale is more important than in HoMM as it gives you +xx% attack and defence and crit chance but I don't remember anything about mixing races

Don't play King's Bounty: Legions as that one was more of a multiplayer and bad things than any good and fun.

Strenght of Kings Bounty lies in its campaings and different ways you can build your heroes (much more unique than HoMM).

I see, i read the comments for King's Bounty: Dark Side and its pretty bad too? Thank you for the great insight. I'll refer back to this when I play the series. Much appreciated. :D

Nah!

King's Bounty: The Legend
King's Bounty: Crossworlds ( it is King's Bounty: Armored Princess with some DLCs)
King's Bounty: Dark Side
King's Bounty: Warriors of the North

Are all great! I think people didn't liked Dark Side because you play as demons or orcs not as human heroes and most people can't roleplay not 100% good heroes ;) For me it was ton of fun :)

EDIT:

Damn! Writing about all this made me nostalgic so now I have to get these games on Steam and play them again :D

Hahaha, thanks for all the information! Yeah i can understand that feeling was so happy to see HoMM III on steam till realising it was just the base game. I still have a CD-Rom of the series tho so I'm good. :D

GLHF! :D

I know I will want it but price from 50-85 Euro looks like a bit too much.

So I will have to wait for 2023 and some -80% sale :)

I liked the Legend, finished it twice, but Armored Princess already made me bored with the rehashed story/world/ideas so I gave up on it quickly, and I've never played other expansions. Katauri is dead btw, so... who knows what will this look like in the end. Not really optimistic from my perspective.

it looks good, but i didn't like the first game. tried it for 3-4 hours and it was too different from heroes 3-4-5.

Visually the plump and cartoonish style of the previous series is much more interesting than the currernt one, might be interesting though.
