Are you joining this party?
I'm fairly certain that it is a new policy, as every single game in the latest Choice has expiration dates. Extremely unlikely that all these different publishers and indies insisted on that measure.
It's way more likely that Humble made this decision to make participating in bundles way more appealing to their partners. I'd expect this at least to become way more common, if not even the general standard.
And honestly, if it convinces more parties to do bundles, I'm all for it.

Saw this last night. Was wondering why it wasn't posted yesterday.
But all in all, the Ravenloft games are the only thing I'd want.

Thanks. Is that the 7th of February or the 2nd of July? :-)

The definitive collection right there. They're a bit tough to get into these days, but classics they are no doubt.
In related news, two more classics not in this bundle have recently added Steam pages and are scheduled to drop next month.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard
Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone

This is a nice service to the older gamers among us. 👨🦳👩🦳

Pretty good bundle, given their prices don't go very low on Steam.
You won't find them cheaper any time soon.

I had to buy it because of nostalgia. Glad to have it in my Steam library. No code wheels to worry about and i think they include all the manuals, maps and cluebooks. The early days of PC rpg gaming. Its a big part of gaming history from days long gone.

Ok I must say I fell for this one. Not sure I'm gonna play all of them. But clearly a good bundle

Has anyone unfamiliar with these old games bought the bundle and (already) tried some of them? I would especially be very interested to read what you think of Al-Qadim, Forgotten Realms: The Archives - Collection Three and the Dark Sun Series.
I can see myself ragequitting them as they're probably very slow and clunky, but I can't help being intrigued at the same time. O_o If the next Choice bundle is a dud for me, I might grab the first tier.

You can try some of those games here (it uses a DOSBox emulator on the browser):

The game protection is the manual, search for the name of the game + PDF

If you don't consider yourself a patient player, you may not enjoy these games in general. The pay off can take some time (like mid way into the game for it to really click), and often times you need a guide to get through most of these.
They are worth it for people who are curious about the history of cRPGs, love RPGs regardless of the era and are okay with a little clunkiness here and there.
I haven't played any of them yet, but I'm currently playing Ultima Underworld and am having a blast (with mods installed lol). I would advise you to look at a couple of play throughs online and see if it's a good fit for you, else you risk them flooding your backlog never to be played.

I guess I'm less patient now that I used to be when I was younger? XD Again, that depends on the situation. Checking up some gameplay videos is a good idea... also, I've noticed that I have all the Eye of the Beholder games on GOG. I'll install the first one and see if I can play for more than 15 minutes without wanting to break everything around me.

I'm the opposite, actually. I was WAY less patient when I was younger, but now I'm more understanding of a game's limitations and I have a genuine curiosity of what gaming was like back in the day. The thing that makes RPGs so timeless is their ability to immerse you in their world. If you allow some of these games to do that, that would I feel overcome a lot of its shortcomings.

would have bought this bundle 2 decades ago for nostalgia, but now...
