That's complete bullshit,Recettear never does a 75% discount - heck, she mostly overprices stuff at ~130% their worth. And don't even get me started on when prices go up..

Selling items at 75% results in Recette having to move into a cardboard box. The goal is to sell at high margins, not lose money!

I think it's a little more fluid than that. While I agree Korra isn't an anime, there are some anime studios that do most of their work in Korea.

If the headquarters of the studio are located on korea but the product is realesed origianlly on Japan and with japanese voice acting i will agree in any other way it is "Aeni" or Manwa animation...

Almost none of these games have any relation to "Anime". That is, have a, or are based upon, a Japanese cartoon. Several are not even Japanese at all.

Comment has been collapsed.

  • I have a budget of cents, not nearly enough for the game. Besides, to consider spending my own cash on it would require a significant discount even with the money required.
  • I want to do a Steam review, which requires the Steam release.
  • Its easy enough to replace the files with the uncensored release.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If you're getting it for gameplay,it doesn't have much to offer. It's a somewhat classic arena-style beat-all-those-guys game, with not much of variety and short playtime. If you're nor familiar with the genre,I'd say leave it. There ain't much arena-style games on Steam, and some of those which are in are not competent - but if you're specifically looking for short matches,anime-style game,I'd say buy a key with that money and try to find someone to get you Acceleration of Suguri (X-Edition) .

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I bought it anyway and I have to agree with you both, its short and insanely repetitive. I'm honestly having fun for the first half an hour only, then its just "hyah, hyah, hyah" over and over again.

Oh well, at least the cards value are pretty high.

Good point, but there are also other titles on sale that weren't on the page that I didn't mention - I just found 100% Orange Juice's DLC to be a great sale compared to the release date, content they provide, and quality of the base game.

You didn't mention it. I did, some ppl might want to check it out, especially since it isn't on steam's list. I don't understand all the fuss over a single link. Also, I never asked you to put Zero in the op post. Just left it there as a notification.

Ex. when Ground Zeroes went on sale during christmas sale, Metal Gear Rising also wound up on sale by associaton.

If you're willing to shell out some cash,The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is great. For less turn-based and more action,I'd say go to the Ys series - there are three titles, but iirc one of them contains both others.. dig around a bit and see if you can figure out which one it is.

Edit: Also see Chantelise - A Tale of Two Sisters. As with all purchases, read the negative reviews to find out what a game is weak at and see if it's deal-breaking for you or something you wouldn't care about.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ys Origin is the prequel of the series.
Ys Chronicles is a dual pack containing Ys I and Ys II, both using a different battle system from the other games in the series (bump into enemies).
Ys: Oath in Felghana is a remake of Ys III.

HIGHLY recommend ALL of them.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

In what order would you go about playing them? (Storyline wise, and if you'd like each title to have better gameplay-wise).

P.S: Some of the Ys titles have been on better sales before,so if you're hesitant about picking it up worthing is not bad - but by no means does it make this sale bad(I think some of the titles do match their all time lows).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If you are worried about Gameplay, I'd go Chronicles -> Origin -> Felghana. Chronicles has th eleast appealing gameplay, but it is still a great RPG.

For storyline, go Origin -> Chronicles -> Felghana.

They have all been down as low as $3.74 (in last year's summer sale, for example), but imo any sale price is completely worth it. Even if buying at twice it's full price, they are worth it. I recommend them THAT much. I love the Ys series, I own almost every entry, some multiple times over multiple consoles.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The only thing that matters is that you play 1 before 2. They're mostly self-contained stories with the protagonist being a common element, except for Origin which has its own set of characters, being a distant prequel.

I would recommend 1 -> 2 -> Origin -> Oath in Felghana. I played Origin first myself and you can start from there if you want, but there's some tiny references to 1 and 2 in there you might miss otherwise.

Exactly, but some people tend to like to have "everything in their disposal",and I assume that those weapons do give some diversity,at in the time of the game where they're viable. It's a steep cost if you're on of those,so it's worth the warning.
