As always, might grab two games after release if something catches my attention. These Groupees preorders stopped being worth it a long time ago.

no way, I'd rather use my Ninja Krowns to get a coupon and use the coupon to buy the game than preordering anything on groupees.

Ski Drive: Biathlon is a neat concept, but the fact that the rifle aim is perfect with no wobble (from breathing, heartbeat, etc) means that target shooting wouldn't be very challenging for me. I'll wait to see what else is revealed.

Since the only way to know what game was received one has to activate the key. If it comes back as a duplicate game (already owned), is the key then useless, or can it be passed on to a friend?

If you tried to redeem it and it turned out that you owned the game, then yes you can forward it to a friend; the key will still be valid.
There are rare cases in which the keys that come from Groupees are already dupes, because either the dev sent invalid codes to Groupees or Groupees just messed up something about the keys and sent the same key to different customers. In these cases you should contact Groupees support and clear it up.
