How long it takes to download something and how so little time it takes to delete that something.

I'm nagging here because I just uninstalled Borderlands: GOTY ( which is about 10 gigs ) that took me about 17 hours to download, and all of this because for some reason my shitty desktop pc couldn't run it with a playable fps, but my equally shitty laptop somehow was able to.

kinda pointless to compare dorm internet to commercial one ;) bnack in a days when I lived in dorm I had 50/50 MBps for free, but such speed/price isn't something you can compare with commercial ISP providers.

For one person it costs ~15$. We just decided to share it to keep it cheap.

still, IDK how it works in your country but in my university gets government dotations for internet for students - both on campus and in dormitories. Not to mention the fact they are buying connection for whole dormitory, so can easily negotiate prices while when you're buying internet for just one apartament, you're not really in negotiable position ;p

Well, we don't get free internet in our dorms, just in uny itself, but it's kinda shitty anyway. Anyway, this is just silly epenis measuring happening at the moment.

Still faster than mine, I barely round up to 1mb.

EDIT: HERE something is definitely wrong with my upload.

I have about only 1.5x of that upload while my ISP provides my with 12MB/s down... I wish they provided faster upload.

Try having a LIMITED bandwidth service. It's even worse than anything... Especially at barely 2 MB/s download.

It is pretty fast

But limited? That REALLY suck. What's the use of fast internet when you can't use it as you want?

well thats standard for US connections for those who don't/can't pay for the faster.. and usually the next step down is 1/5 that speed :/

2 up 1 down for me... I can barely watch a stream on twitch and I have to leave my download overnight just for a game... Also gaming on 200ms ping is not fun

I used to have 512 Kbps till October 2013.. I have 2 Mbps now though.

I'm gonna have a hard time weeping for you...

The only thing keeping me from going completely nuts is that this is faster than my old dial-up service... even if it's on the same shitty, 50+ years-old, phone lines.

You could... but then I'd have to tie you to a chair in front of my computer and let you watch things buffer for a week or so (which, incidentally, is about how long it took me to download Injustice).

You'd never even think of disparaging your connection speed after that. lol
(Of course, I'd never actually do that to someone, since I'm pretty sure the U.N. prohibits subjecting civilians to connection speeds as slow as mine.)

Not too bad

Expensive, but no cap, so that's pretty good. Here's to hoping 10 years in the future Google Fiber has saved us all from slow internet speeds! :D

I used a mobile broadband connection for several years which downloaded games at 65kb/s, it was much cheaper, but now have finally upgraded my home connection to 12.5mb/s.

I initially had a problem with Borderlands 1, I think it needed 'Vsync=1' line adding to the display settings file. Borderlands 2 has an issue with USB wireless networking, I used to have to remove my USB internet dongle to stop the graphics stuttering.

You know what's the best part? People still blame me and my shitty connection for lagging in dark souls. Yesterday met some dude who went as far as insulting my whole country. Fun times :)
