Would you like to buy Five Dates, or are you on a low-sugar diet?

[Tier 2] Six movies to keep for the low price of, well, perhaps less than one month of Netflix? That's not too shabby. And they're interactive, too, you say? Count me in!
[Have] All of these are already safely stored in my Bunker.
[Skip] I want more Complex stories than these.
[Tiertato] The reviews say Bloodshore would be decent for a fiver, but since it goes for sale below three bucks, why would anybody even pay that much?
[Coupontato] Can't you chaps make a (real) more expensive tier instead of this coupon junk?
[$1tato] I'm not paying more than a dollar for some old FMVs, but I would really like to pay a dollar for some old FMVs. Anyone? Please? Help?!

small hint

I like FMV games, but my experience with Late Shift, She Sees Red and the dreadfully boring The Bunker taught me that these type of interactive movies are not for me.
Really liked Contradiction, where there is a story to build and secrets to solve, not just choosing a bit different direction for a film.

I have a large backlog of FMV, but I did like The Bunker maybe partly because it was an SG win back in the day.
She Sees Red and Contradiction: Spot the Liar are in my backlog and Late Shift is on by Wishlist (because FMV).

I enjoyed Late Shift from Humble Choice years ago, The Complex is on my wishlist, Bloodshore looks interesting.

This will come down to whether another two games appeal to me. I'm not into Five Dates, but I'm sure that Rom Com type fans may like it.

If you already own some of them, rather keep an eye on their complete the set bundles during Steam sales.

Mia is the only one I don't own so its tempting but not sure. I played the demo for it and liked it. 10 bucks isn't bad for the one game alone imo since its pretty new. Its a toss up for me atm.

Never thought something like this would ever happen.

You are an FMV God. I have a few of these games and others are in my Wishlist. To Buy? Not sure.

You have three games from this bundle.
You played The Bunker with which i had the least fun with.
You could play Late Shift because that is a typical game they make regarding production value and story flow. If you like it you sure will like the others too.
Five Dates is from this list the one i liked the most and was the one who made me finally buy the MEGA FMV complete your collection on steam.

Go for the bundle if you plan in playing the rest sooner then later.

Thank you for your thoughts. I ultimately decided not to buy the bundle, though. The only game I want is The Complex, and I have a decent backlog of FMV games already. Cheers.

I see you've also played ten dates.
I loved five dates as well, will I be disappointed with ten dates?

That might depend on your expectations a bit.

Personaly i found it not as good as five dates.
That is because i found that the webcam thing during covid worked realy well in five dates.

In Tend Dates... well basically Five Dates x 2 (you play as a female or male protagonist each with five different ways to go) it is back to the "real" world which i found not so convincing as a setting.
The Charakters are also, with a few exceptions, not so interesting as the ones in five dates.
It is good but do not expect it to better then five dates or on par with it.

Yeah, that's how I felt just looking at the characters in the trailer.
A five dates part 2 would have been cool, where you got to revisit each of the characters post-covid / real-world dating.
Thanks for sharing, and for your enthusiasm for FMV games :)

Some games I'd like (Late Shift, The Complex, maybe Bloodshore), but kind of expensive for a "niche appeal" bundle. Hmm.

I have played 3 games by those guys and I can definitely say that any bundle with a price tag over 1 buck is overpriced.
Bad writing, terrible acting, boring "gameplay". It's like watching an old direct to video movie (or a Netflix movie) without being able to skip through.
I suggest you check out Her Story instead.

Only played Bloodshore, and found it goddamn terrible. Awful writing, wooden acting, very few interesting choices to make. It's a real shame too, because an interactive Hunger Games/Battle Royale-style game is a dream come true in my eyes, but this game just wasn't it. Bundle seems waaay overpriced too.

I've actually quite enjoyed The Complex, it's the only one I've replayed several time to watch every ending. The main actor's performance is one the best I've ever seen in FMV games (seriously, that's so above both 90's and modern standards); his partner is unfortunately pretty awful, yep. To those looking for actually well-written modern FMVs I'd recommend Contradiction and corny yet awesome Tesla Effect. As for classics, nothing can beat Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within, Black Dahlia and The X-Files Game (GK2 is fortunately available on Steam and GOG, and it's totally worth it to just pirate the other two, they are so damn good).

Of course, they do not say this anywhere.

It's always like that. (With regular sales I suppose Choice subscriber discount stacks as well, for coupons I don't know.)

Can try to ask for your bundle purchase to be refunded.

They're talking about how discounts on Humble Bundle have always worked. Not talking about all stores ever.

Which isn't true, as HB build your own bundles stacked before.

Tales from Wales Interactive! More like Tales of Looking for Whales! They want people to just throw money at them because they don't have anything better to do with it. ;P
