That's actually not terrible for the price... You could build a far better desktop PC, but if you've made up your mind I'd say that's not too horrible. GT 640 is even quite bad on a desktop, so the M version will probably be quite a bit worse, but you should be able to play most modern games at 720p on low/mid settings.

doesnt look like the one you found comes with an operating system for that price, the cheapest y410p will be a lot better value for your money regardless though i think they charge a tax on top of the price, which would make it on the high end of your budget range.

I have had that exact Y410P since they launched and it is a great machine, I highly recommend it. They have pretty frequent sales where you can get the 900p screen model for the lower $749 price, setup a deal alert on slickdeals.net.
I paid $689 for mine 5 months ago, never regretted it.

Definitely add some more money and get this Lenovo Y510P

My laptop has a 640M LE 2GB and it runs those games on High settings. It can run them on Ultra but it lags whenever there's so much stuff going on screen.

For gaming the most important hardware is the gpu.
this said i wouldn't recommend to buy the one you have choosen because from gpu side its almost the same in power according to the one you already own (only little better but less vram), .
I would really look for a model with a better gpu because If i would buy a new notebook at least it has to be better than my old one so I can see an impact on gaming and get better graphics than before, also it will last longer.

My 2 Cents on this topic. I would suggest building a Desktop by buying part and assembling it yourself. This way in the same budget you can build a even stronger, faster and better config computer. You would need a separate screen though. Also you can not take the desktop anywhere.
You can check the best config for your price range here.

The one I am currently using was a gift from my brother years ago. Now I might have to give it to my parents since their old laptop is broken. My folks say they will give me $650 for buying back my old laptop and some extra money to get a new one. After browsing for a while, xoticpc seems to be the most recommended place to buy gaming laptops (even better than newegg, my friends said that it's better to buy separated components than buying a whole set on newegg)
I could only find this laptop, the FORCE QAL51-HD that fits the money I am willing to pay. I might add 100 or 150 bucks more from my own fund to get better cooling system and some important software. What do you guys think? All your advices are appreciated.
And why a laptop but not a desktop? I have to travel A LOT. There was this one time I had to help my brother move and we looked like two geeks holding the monitor, CPU, and a bunch of wires in the elevator.
