He created the giveaways two days ago but set the starting date today
EDIT : okay that's not it, there are entries form 2 days ago (and also after reading the post fully it appears what I said is not related anyway)

OK I think I know why (disregard my previous unrelated comment)
When you click on the link to the Steam store on the giveaway page, it appears that it is not only this game but a package with this game and Ground Zeroes, and package can't be wishlisted

The giveaway is linked to http://store.steampowered.com/sub/74453/
but two others giveaways are linked to http://store.steampowered.com/app/287700/
I think giveaways linked to /sub/ pages won't appear to wishlist page.

No, this is not what the thread is about.
I took a look in a profile of a certain well known user and found an interesting giveaway. I entered it, but then I noticed that it was made two days ago, yet I never saw it here, even though I do have the game in my wishlist, and the giveaway itself is public. What happened here?
The giveaway in question is this: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/JR9Hk/metal-gear-solid-v-the-phantom-pain
EDIT: it does appear if I search for it without entering the wishlist section: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?q=metal+gear+solid. It also appears in the second to last page in "all" section, so looks like it's just the "wishlist" category that's problematic.
EDIT 2: I got the answer in two posts below: 1 and 2
