so, one of my giveaways ended yesterday. I wanted to send the gift, but couldn't. It would load for a while and then just stop at this url:

https://store.steampowered.com/checkout/sendgift/7693362...

this site is just empty, and it stops loading at that point. this also happens with other gifts (i tried an older one without the trade restriction). if i try to do it in the browser instead of the client, it's the same thing.

so, anyone with the same problem? what is going on? what can i do? ^^

btw, i also noticed, that i can't buy games as gift. i can buy games, if i add them to my account. but if i want to buy as a gift - the same thing.

It says "Invalid gift or gift has already been redeemed." That's all I can say :)

if that is true, it would indicate that there is a problem with your account, not with your particular Steam Client. You should probably contact support about this problem.

sounds logical, but i have absolutely no idea, what this problem might be. also, i was able to buy one single gift yesterday evening. so it didn't work most of the time for more than a day now, but at least one time it did.

and i am not sure what kind of problem with my account could lead to problems with buying a gift, while buying games for myself works fine.

so this problem occurs on all titles through the steam store/inventory? it seems you are blocked in some way from manipulating or creating gift items, did you try Steam trade feature instead? So far there is no mention while searching Google about this problem apart from buying packs as gifts or some particular games at exact time in past.

EDIT: here is similar problem Splatdotoz replies that he has same problem (same as yours) in comments

I had same problem. also this method help with steam-card bag. From support:

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Even though you may have attempted similar steps already, please re-test the issue now using the methods below:

Note: These processes will not affect your currently installed games.

If using a PC

  • Please exit Steam, and navigate to the …\Steam\ directory (by default this is C:\Program Files\Steam - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
  • Delete all of the files in this folder except: Steam.exe and the \Steamapps\ and \Userdata\ folders
  • Restart your computer and test the issue again.

If using a Mac:

  • Exit Steam and go to the folder Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam
  • Delete all of the files in this folder except for SteamApps and Userdata.
  • Restart your computer and test the issue again.

i was not participating in the beta (probably, because i just cleared my steam directory, as described above). i tried anyway to activate the beta client, and then go back to the standard version. didn't change a thing, unfortunately. thanks anyways.

have you tried clearing your cache and dns? https://www.whatsmydns.net/flush-dns.html

i also assume you restarted your pc. and if you have another pc/laptop you could try login in there (if you have steam guard activated).
