My stats for 2019: Just checked and I beat 20 SG Wins! And at 86%. Won a lot of truly fantastic games last year, added a few to my favourites of all-time list. :)
Will likely be playing Monster Prom first.
Not sure how much I'll be playing as I'm tryna binge the free Origin month and finish Batman for PoP but will see!

I'm going to do odd planet I think it qualifies as atmospheric, and I'll also do tank battle blitzkrieg this one I won 3 days ago so in between the Dec 23- Jan 10th time frame. I would also add earth 2150 trilogy but I am struggling to get it to run on my computer it crashes frequently so it might have to wait till next month.

I need more luck sent my way cuz I'm stuck on a mission in tank battle that literally seems impossible, playing it on the easiest difficulty I'm given 3 tanks an armored car 1 mortar and 1 group of infantry and am expected to prevent like 10 or so matildas from driving across a railroad that is like 3 times as long as I have units. I'm beginning to think I'll never beat it cuz the enemies just drive straight through and don't really stop to fight.

Super Cloudbuilt - fast paced
Outside of the event, I will also try to play Assassin's Creed II, which is a bit time-travelly.
To finish either one, I will have to do some time management in the meta game.
Edit: There's no way I'll finish Super Cloudbuilt by the end of the month... Instead I submitted and finished Valley (atmospheric), and I'll also try for Strider (retro), which I previously submitted and failed to finish.

Highlands: Won around NYE (dec 25th) - done! It's a tedious boardgame with VN overlay disguised as a strategy game. Okayish.
AR-K: Difficult tag - done! Great start, kind of bad chapter 2, but ch 3 has good reviews. Hoping for good final chapter release.

Just Cause 2: I don't want to trigger my more obsessive personality, so just messed around along with the story, 22% completion. Pretty solid with dated elements. Huge but repetitive, repetitive but kinda zen. Environments and just travelling around is its absolute forte imo.
Absolutely out of the blue sky: SOMA (atmospheric,. Hooooly fuck. After 3.5 years, I finally finished the game. Couldn't play it in its original form for multiple reasons, but pacifist mode made it work. And it was such an absolutely amazing story... 2020 is young, but absolutely game of the year category one here. Absolutely worth the wait, blown my socks off.
Red Johnson's Chronicles - 1+2 - Steam Special Edition
While it literally doesn't have tags besides Adventure, Action, Point & Click and Detective, it has a very strong neo-noir style - a classic noir detective story taking place in the dystopic future. It even has black and white, narrated cutscenes! :D
It will be awesome if I succeed at finishing 2-3 at least :3

Hi, it turns out that these were not valid games either, because I have unplayed wins that fit the theme. I didn't catch that distinction. I have a handful of unplayed wins that I have no intention of playing for various reasons, so I'll need to be sure to check against the theme each time. It was no matter, since I wasn't entering any GA; I was just trying to participate in an SG event, and I like to support the theme of playing won games.

That said, I really liked the "Rule of Three" theme suggested by Saucisse for March last year. It sounded so grand like something straight out of a LOTR book :)
If I couldn't use the theme exactly as suggested by Saucisse, then "Omne Trium Perfectum" would be a pretty nice "replacement theme". The phrase means "everything that comes in threes is perfect, or, every set of three is complete" (source)
The games that qualify for the Rule of Three should have:
- "3" in their app ID. Bonus points for having 3 threes in the app ID
- Have 3 or any variation of the number in the game title
- Gameplay involving a team of three playable characters (example, Mutant Year Zero)
- "Games where you have to obtain exactly three of something (three parts, elements, special magic items)" (taken verbatim)
- Games that can be completed in or around 3 hours (HLTB link required to qualify)
- Third installment of any game series (had to include this because some sequels of games don't have "3" in the title)
- Game trilogies - any game within said trilogy (the first, the second or the third). Bonus points if you complete/beat all three games within the trilogy

Funnily I just read an article about the next Chinese year which will be the zodiac sign 鼠 and it explained that this sign can be translated to rat AND mouse :D
Also I think the dragon should not be strictly the asian one but also the western one and wyverns otherwise this would be too difficult for everyone :)

The previous month is usually closed on day 1 or 2 of the following month. After that you won't be able to mark the games as beaten/completed. If you have beaten/completed a game on time, but you have forgotten to mark it, just let mouse or myself know and we will do it for you.
If you have not finished the game in the previous month and it fits the next month's theme too, you are welcome to add it to the new month. Just fill out any achievements and the time already spent.
Any games with multiple endings are considered beaten once you have reached one ending. Doesn't matter which one.

I have a question about the "Real Time/etc." categories. Is it supposed to be something specific, or can it be anything that's not turn-based? ie: would any platformer, shoot-em-up, FPS fit, or would it only be stuff like strategy games (which are traditionally grouped as real-time or turn-based)?
