Whoever bought it for you did a chargeback through their bank. You should probably contact the giveaway maker and mark it as not received.

The game was bought with money from stolen credit card. Its real owner got refund, so you lost your game.

Also, this is a very common situation with many games, especially Minecraft.

I remember seeing a lot of topics (on official steam forums) about Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim around New Year, when someone purchased lots of those "most wanted" games, traded them for expensive TF2 items and then, when people traded them further, the entire chain of trade got messed up, with people who were third or fifth link getting their Skyrim revoked. Never heard of something like that happening here.

lol, the guy u won it from gave 5 games away, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, 2x MW3, Max Payne 3... Think theres gonna be 4 more people with similar stories to yours soon.

People that try to abuse the system will always get caught at some point. Its just sad that they have to involve good people in the process.

I remember when this guy was posting these giveaways in chat. We questioned him about why he was becoming so generous all of a sudden. He claimed he made more than $2,000 a week and didn't care.

ive had that happen, excactly with skyrim cept i paid the guy 40$ for it... Basically he chargebacked didnt pay for the game so you dont get it.

Contact the person that sent you the gift or contact support about it got it removed?

Man that's terrible,anyways checked the profiles of the other games that the ppl that won and they are missing their games in their inventories also. Man what a loser having to cheat people like that.
