Exclusives are a great way for them to make money while the console in question is relevant. Since the manufacturing cost of the hardware VS consumer price is not beneficial for the company at all. When a generation shift is on the horizon - anything is possible. But ofc not guaranteed ^_^

The only thing I heard is Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding. Both run on the same engine (Decima engine). GoW and The Last of Us and Bloodborne all use different engines, so it's unlikely they will get official ports.

The reason the engine is important is the cost / benfit part of the equation. Porting games is very difficult if the engine you have is only for consoles. So a lot of resources need to be put aside to port a game, that already had its hype behind it. If it were easy they would likely do it with older games, I find it very unlikely that they would do it for newer titles. David Cage games were all developed by Quantic Dream, so again they utilize the same engine, meaning if one of them is ported it's likely easier to port the rest do to their similar architecture.

I think Sony is testing the waters with HZD. Have you ever heard the expression that money talks? If HZD sells good Sony definitely going to release more games to PC. What haven't you seen Twitter yet? Playstation extremist knows that their days of exclusivity are dying. And also AFAIK PS4 is based on the x86 architecture same as PC. Porting PS4 games to PC has never been easier. Ps3 in the other hand well that's another story. About the cost is irrelevant isn't like Sony going to give their games for free when porting to PC.

If you didn't know yet Xbox pretty much doesn't have exclusives. Microsoft is the main competitor of Sony. And Sony seeing Microsoft is releasing so many exclusives on PC "I think" that Sony wants some of that sweet candy (Money) that is PC. Isn't a surprise? that Sony announced Horizon Zero Dawn the same day Microsoft released Ori and the Will of the Wisps on PC. Some saids Sony is doing this so more people buy a PS5 but PS5 doen't have Any exclusives yet...

The issue is, releasing console or ps exclusives a year after their release to PC does remove the value of a console, Exclusives are certainly a big reason why people purchase consoles. The question is, do they gain more from PC users that the projected losses on the console market on the long run.
Porting games to PC is heavily dependent on the engine and the resources the company is willing to spend on it.

Sony isn't making enough money just by selling consoles. Consoles are getting more & more expensive to make each generation and selling games on PC is the way to recuperate those loses.

It seems to be a little more complicated even, according to this those games all have different engines.

Quantic Dream is one of the few studios in the world to develop a new engine for each game.

One engine might be built on the last one, sure. And I can't see any info on what engine the remastered versions of HR and B:TS use, but I would assume it's not the same iteration as Detroit. I guess Quantic Dream is just very experienced in writing engine code and adapting it to new hardware, so it might not be as big of a deal for them as for other studios.

Apart from that I believe most (if not all) modern engines run on PC anyway. What makes them specific to a certain console is optimization. That has to be done for PC as well then to a degree. But just building a game for the PC platform and getting something that at least runs right out of the box is probably doable with very little (if any) work.

And as far as optimization goes, I would assume that much of that work done for consoles also helps on the PC platform, since the CPUs are the same architecture and have the same extensions. Not sure how much the unified memory architecture complicates things, though (or other things I am not thinking of).

Pff, like my current PC could do better graphics. I need to upgrade some if not most of the hardware. Most of the recently released games I'll play on PC aren't heavy on graphics output.

I'm in it for the games anyway, don't really care where they are or how shiny they look, as long as I have fun. I still play Mega Drive games at times, so even the best graphics card can only go so far for some stuff, though now I got the Mini just for those. I also buy some games on both PC and console and play them multiple times if they are really good. Currently on Rise of the Tomb Raider, played it at launch on PC and now got complete edition on PS4.

Graphics don't make gameplay better or worse. As long as I can see the game, the quality makes minimal difference IMO. Still playing the same game in the end. About the only reason I'll care about graphics settings are to disable things I hate like lens flare. :P

I just buy games where ever I can get a deal. Sometimes that is Steam, sometimes it is a console deal. If I'm on PC, I just disable those visual effects because they are more annoying than anything. I don't want stuff like lens flare or distance blur enabled if I have the option to disable it, and disabling them can help improve the speed anyway, which I need with newer games anyway.

But if I'm playing on console, I just deal with it. Still think they look ugly though.

As for upgrading, it would be nice, but I'm not picky about where I play. I'm happy enough buying the games on PS4 or other consoles, so upgrading isn't a huge priority. I'd be more likely to do a full system replacement anyway. More expensive in the short term than just replacing part by part, but don't need to worry about ensuring new parts will be compatible with what I'm keeping, and I can hand over this system to family. Did that last time as well, mum deserves an upgrade again. The old one only gets sound by USB (Windows 10 did something to the internal sound support, never found a way to fix it) and the nephews keep breaking the adapters she buys. This one has proper working sound, she could watch TV through the PC again.

releasing years later ps4 exclusives on pc would be a great way to increase customers for sony. if people dont buy it in the first 4 years, they will probably never buy it so they dont loose on costumers. i personally would never get a console just to play exclusive games. some people would get enticed by it but i think there are lots of pc gamers who want to experience the best possible way or none at all.
