"Welcome to your new job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where kids and parents alike come for entertainment and food as far as the eye can see! The main attraction is Freddy Fazbear and his animatronic friends! Their behavior has become somewhat unpredictable at night, however, and it was much cheaper to hire you as a security guard than to find a repairman.

From your small office you must watch the security cameras carefully. You have a very limited amount of electricity that you're allowed to use per night (corporate budget cuts, you know). That means when you run out of power for the night—no more security doors or lights! If Freddybear or his friends aren't in their proper places, you must find them on the monitors and protect yourself as needed!

Codes will be released over the next four weeks on Wednesdays, with the first batch being released today, September 3, at 10am PDT. We have heard your feedback and to better accommodate our international friends we will be staggering the release time each week by 6 hours (9/10 @ 4pm, 9/17 @ 10pm, 9/24 @ 4am. *All times PDT).

Codes are available on a first-come, first-served basis."

I still don't understand why they don't ensure that they have enough codes for all of their subscribers.

Because that would be a poor business decision. That would require more money spent on the codes, plus this way, it generates a ton of traffic as people keep trying to get a code.

It's not a poor business decision to keep your customers happy. It is a well-known fact that it is much more costly to attract new customers than it is to retain existing customers. That is why many companies will offer incentives to people that are considering canceling their subscriptions. I personally am on the fence about renewing my membership next month, and I would be more likely to do so if I was guaranteed a key every month instead of a chance at a key.

Playstation Plus (or whatever their subscription service is called) ensures that all of their users have access to the free games included as part of membership. There is no reason IGN should not do the same.

Playstation Plus exists for the free games. IGN Prime has other content, but it also includes a free game each month. They're not all that similar.

Meanwhile on Steam you don't have to pay for discounts.

When I signed up and completed the direct payment form, the promise was a free Steam game each month, not entry into a lottery for a limited number of codes.

Saving a few bob by shafting your customers is a far worse business decision than keeping them happy by providing what was advertised at the point of sale.

Thanks for the heads up. A link would be useful, as it isn't on the Prime landing page, but a quick Google search found it for me.

Pay $7 last month to get The Walking Dead Season 2 and have leftover time to this month and get this free?

$7 = Walking Dead S2 + This is much better :D

I only paid long time ago and sometime ago realised I can still get free games, so can't complain.

Not this bullshit again? Signed up for a free Steam game each month, not a friggin F5 pounding competition at some god-forsaken hour of the morning...

Considering there's codes for hours, it ain't F5 contest :P

It may still turn out to be a lottery for codes, and an exercise in frustration, rather than all of the subscribers getting what they paid for.

Just sayin'

Great, don't have to stay up until after 2am to try to get keys anymore.

Wait, WTF do I have to do any of this BS to get keys for a pay service that promised a free game to members monthly in the first place?
