hold on I am trying to find a site to host my image

Agreed, not an absolute truth, but newbies tend to do better trades as they don't care much about value, they simply want the game to play it. While veteran traders look to make a profit.

+1 People new to trading or just people that don't trade much usually just do it to get a game they want, while people with a lot of rep do it just for the profit. I've seen quite a few new people willing to trade without getting at least an equal return, just because they really want the games.

I'm not from the U.S., so I'm not familiar with "Carnival Fruit Roll-Ups", but I'd be willing to bet that fresh carrots are a whole lot better than whatever the eff those synthetic chemical sugarbomb thingies are.
Unless that was your point?

Well in elementary I remember one kid having a fruit roll up and those things were the best. As kids you traded what you had in your lunches because you wanted something else instead of carrots.

Oh yeah Fruit by the Foot I knew I was missing something. If one was crazy they would wrap it around their finger and put it in their mouth (gross I know, but we were kids too)

People trade by different values, how much personal value, or original cost, or bundled cost or if they think it's fair or not. Ofc there are times when it's a blatantly unbalanced offer, nothing you can do about those peeps although it could also be possible they're not aware of the actual value of whatever they are trying to trade as well.
Maybe I think both those carrots and roll-ups are equally terrible! :3

Heh, please, people are sending me coupons, 3 cent skins, a few gems, cards, nothing at all, and expect me to give them expensive games. o.O

I also remember a person (happened recently) that sent me a shadow warrior gift and he was asking for 10 keys. xD But yeah, the offers I'm getting are just like the ones in your pictures. :P

A long time ago, someone wanted to "teach" me to do a fair offer ...
He wrote (his) rules and sent an offer which for him was good but really bad for me.
So I sent him the best offer for me (worse for him) using his rules ^^
And .... he did not even understand that I used his rules then after some other (ridiculous) "rules" he blacklisted me ^^
There is no "rules", there are only offer and you can accept or decline them anytime you want ;)

I'm confused. Are you talking about newbies, or noobs? Because the first is synonymous with beginner, while the latter is synonymous with incompetent idiot, and really isn't appropriate for use in threads such as these. :X
What it basically boils down to is that newbs are new to something, but willing to learn, whereas n00bs are new or really bad at something, but seemingly uninterested in learning, and often act disrespectfully. [>>]

Honestly I though they were the same I should say my definition was "newb". nice article btw

Believe it or not, value is subjective.
EDIT: Obviously you should even try requesting a $20 game for a 10 cent skin, but you get my point.
Your picture proved it. Carrots are as valuable if not even more for me compared to the plastic fruit roll.

I want to show you my favorite trade (which was made in 2012 but I still remember all numbers ;D).
I bought 'Bulletstorm' and 'Blur' steam gifts for $7,5 with 75% discount. Gentle Manne's Service Medal #623 was sold for 40 keys + 9 keys for Bill's Hat.
49 keys * $2,30 keys selling price = $112; $112 - $7,50 = $105 pure profit ¯ \ (ツ) / ¯
I had many valuable trades but this one is 'when everything got started' for me.

I don't think it has anything to do with being a noob. People having nothing are just trying to get something and more back. I don't condemn them for trying as long as they don't cross the line.

Just recently on barter.vg someone "offered" me Eurgava, Evolution Planet Gold Edition, and Defunct for...
Steamworld Heist
Project Highrise
Okhlos
None of which, mind, are on any sort of wishlist of mine.I think some people literally assume that everyone on the internet is a gullible 15 year old teenager.

No matter what everyone seems to bump into those newbie traders. Can't say I have made enough to not be called a noob.
