Here, finally a client for my Blizzard games.

EDIT; UI looks very good, tho I hope they'll add more games to the client.

Launches any of your games without the need to log-in/authenticate, shows your online friends, serves as a hub for news, updates your games, and possibly a chat feature is on the way, as it is still beta.

Sounds like a good piece of software to me.

Origin has that kind of stuff, too.

Yeah but it's hard to launch Blizzard games from Origin since they're not on there.

the thing is i can already launch my blizz games easy enough :) , if they make something that adds value great but until then its windows shortcut for blizz news/games

Not sure if you get how battle.net works.

Games shouldn't fucking need authentication every fucking time I play them anyway, No thanks.

Except it's for account security. It isn't a must to use, but it's advised. And the client speeds up the process to get through it. Convenience with security? Yes please.

now we only need a Blizzard humble bundle xD

well... I might let them pay me $5 to play Diablo III ..

NAHHHH... I think they would have to pay me like $20 to really get my interest in that steaming pile of garbage.

Uplay, Steam, Origin and now Battlne.net... How many clients do I need in future?!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You need one client to rule them all.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You don't really need uPlay, you can have their games on Steam.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But when you launch them via Steam, uPlay starts where you can start the UbiSoft-Game..

At least From Dust and AC: Brotherhood work that way :(

Well, I don't mind if it's like that, what would bother is to open up diffrent clients to play different games.

I'm pretty sure gog's DRM-free games have no DRM, but ok.

If you log in into the client it also saves the password for that session, so you don't need to enter the autenticator code again for the games you startup. Pretty good^^

Permalink

It kept me logged in even after a restart \o/

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yep, that's secure. I wonder if it's possible to mimic the login session ... since it bypasses the authenticator completely, this could make things very interesting.

hm not interested... i dont play any blizzard game and i dislike need many clients

If you don't play any blizzard game you wouldn't use it anyway.

That's where it fails. Where they all fail: they're exclusive, making them nothing but another piece of software that clutters your PC for how many, one, two games? Really?

If you actually play Blizzard games, the space it takes is nothing compared to the benefits it gives. as long as not every company like that, it's ok to give exclusion to some of the big ones.

ya the 40+gig wow install will be what takes up all your space =P

if i would play blizzard games i would wish it have them on steam not on their client...

Who doesn't, but we don't get all what we want, we can just be thankful they made a decent client and not some broken shit.

OMG, finally a client for a total of four games!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Blizzard will eventually release more games, and there's also a chance they would add the older ones too.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's why I said four, not three.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, they will release new games. At a rate as high as 3 or perhaps even 4 per decade.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Good enough.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

old games don't work in there, ui is full of (news)feeds.
the only useful thing is authentication changes but theoretically these all could've been in the games themselves.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I personally constantly check for Diablo 3 related news, so it's good for me and many other people who care about news related to their games.

and it is a good time to collect all classic diablo and starcraft games, lol. I don't mind publishers creating their own gaming platform, so I don't feel bad that Blizzard games are not on steam. and I don't hate battle.net as well.

It would be easier to them to put their games atSteam... :P

Could someone develop a program that unites Origin/Steam/Battlenet/Uplay accounts into an All in One client? That would be heaven :3

You can use steam to add non-steam games.

dont support blizzard classic :(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's only the start, they could easily add support for classic titles later on.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Seems kinda useless. It's a work around (not a solution) to a problem that shouldn't even be there... It also seems like a pretty big waste to download a whole client when they have a whole 3 games.
