Thanks :) Too bad the cherry blossoms are so fleeting.

Also, that vid you linked kinda made me nauseous. I was okay at the beginning but then they showed the whole fish with the spine exposed, all the flesh cut away and I just thought about what intense pain that poor fish must have been feeling. Don't get me wrong... I'm no vegetarian but seeing it like that is a bit morbid.

Exactly. I prefer my fish dead when I eat them!

Is that discrimination against undead fish? Zombiphobia!

Yep, this is where I'd cross the line. Want to eat something? Be kind and kill it first.

So, the neurons continue to fire as programmed for a bit after general brain death. A lot of animals exhibit the same behavior. It's highly unlikely that any pain would be felt as the neurochemical apparatus is largely inactive/dead.
Still, I completely agree that I want my fish dead before eating them.
For something related that does fit the definition of animal cruelty in my mind, check out this Wikipedia article.

If you go by the state of public restrooms, then definitely yes. Cleanest restrooms ever!

Biggest sand garden I have ever seen (in a pic) :O

That is... a lot of food :D Is that green powder wasabi? green tea? What is that green ball? What are those pink slice things? What is that yellow thing under the pepper? I don't know but I would eat everything :D

And again thanks for the cats pics! :D

What I got going clockwise from top left:
Tempura - nice mix of shrimp, veggies, and even some mochi tempura
Fish head
Green tea mochi filled with cream (I want more! So good)
Sashimi
Miso Soup
Potato salad
I have no idea - I thought it was dessert, but it turned out to be salty.
Pickled vegetables
Rice
That tiny green plate you can see behind the rice is salted matcha powder to dip the tempura in.
