As long as you didn't manually copy the key and paste it in the key activation window on Steam, then proceed to activate it - it's not used and can be given away.

The only thing you need to avoid is redeeming the Steam key to your own Steam account. If you do that, you will truly be unable to gift it.

Maybe I just searched wrong, but I couldn't find a thread on this. I recently bought a game from Humble Bundle with the intent of giving it away, but I didn't say "give me a gift link" because I wanted to see it in my library haha.
Right now, the key is sitting in my library, but the gift icon doesn't show up beside "click to redeem on Steam". Can I just redeem the key, but paste the key into a giveaway here, or am I required to redeem it into my linked Steam account? Or am I just being paranoid and Humble doesn't actually know if I give the key away?
