Can only buy the DLC from the Bioware store and that stuff is pretty expensive. Is it worth buying the Ultimate Edition just for the DLC? Does it add a lot to the game?

I only have the base game as well, but I'd imagine it's at least worth getting for Awakening.

No, not really. Awakening was OK, but not great and the DLCs are mostly really crappy.

Awakening is an entirely new campaign. Besides, you can buy Awakening separately. The rest of the DLC is the normal EA DLC money grab. Don't worry about it too much. It's really just up to how much you enjoyed the base game. If you loved it, the Ultimate Edition is a must have. If you enjoyed it like most people, just buy Awakening separately, unless you can justify the extra 2.50 for the DLC.

Will Dragon Age 2 be available on Steam?

Do not play Dragon Age 2 if you played Dragon Age: Origins. It's such a major step down in quality that it's massively disappointing.

I dunno man. I thought it was better than Origins.

I don't really see it returning to Steam.
There's been no hint of any sort of new edition
including the current DLC, and an expansion for the game was cancelled.

I say it's still a rather good game. But yes, an annoying step backward in many respects.

And no it won't be on Steam unless there's a version with the DLC included, or the DLC is made purchasable through Steam. EA being EA, that's not gonna happen.

Well it depends on if you really liked the base game. I know a lot of people disliked the DLC or figured it was a "cash grab" by EA... I enjoyed the game enough to enjoy the DLC also.

Personally I found that it added quite a bit to the game.

Dragon Age: Origins - 162.3 hrs on record

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition - 90.6 hrs on record.

So yes I got more playtime with Origins but that was playing through with different classes/races/morality.
The UE was me 90% as my Assassin. I played a bit as a warrior and ranger but ultimately didn't feel like playing the different classes/races/morality stuff again.
