Hello Steamgifts I come here because I have a problem and was wondering if you could help.

I am here (like a lot of you) waiting for the Fallout Franchise to go on sale (I don't know how many of you are waiting for that.) and I noticed something today while going through the Steam Store Page.

Steam for some reason is stating that I Own The Ultimate Edition of FO;NV Despite the fact that I only have the base game (It was given to me as a gift so I know it was only the base game.) Which you can see in the picture.

So my question is. Is it possible for me to buy the Ultimate Edition or am I going to have to buy each DLC individually?

Any help on this would be great.

I did check the DLC window in the client and even restarted still showing that I don't own them.

Happens to me as well. It's probably just a simple visual glitch and everything should work fine should we buy the game. Just keep in mind that buying the Ultimate Edition will give you de dlcs but not another base game, so only do it if it's cheaper than the dlcs alone.

It will probably be cheaper to buy the UE rather then all the DLC if it goes on sale for cheaper then 40% off.

"Probably"? Steam gives zero damns about people who already gave it money and early adopters, of course Gold edition forcing you to rebuy base game will be massively cheaper than just DLCs alone :(

(It usually goes 75% gold, 66% base, 50% DLC...)

well if the Gold/UE/GOTY go for that cheap then that's fine. I just don't want to spend so much to get all the DLC for the game.

Well, yes, but that still forces you to rebuy base game and shows middle finger to people who bought it first, when it was at its highest price point to boot :(

That is true.

It's nothing to do with Steam. Prices are set by publishers. But yes, Bethesda don't give a flying fucked about early adopters.

Nope. Valve gives them guide to extracting most profits. It was not only confirmed several times, they also push discount suggestions on them (under threat of not making to main page). Why you think so many different publishers would offer exactly identical % off, down to complete/base/dlc %, not deviating one bit?

25/33/50/66/75 are pretty much regular discounts everywhere. They can suggest all they like but it's ultimately down to the publisher as shown by all those hiking prices before sales. Valve wouldn't suggest a game be sold for £0.07 as their cut 9 that is fuck all.

As far as I know, you can buy it as a gift and then add it to your library. It should warn you that you have the base game, but will add DLC's. Hope I'm not entirely wrong =)

That's probably what I'm going to do and what I'm hoping will happen. I don't mind not getting another base game I just want the DLC.

You probably won't get another base game, I think only Valve games give you giftable copies if you have something in the pack already.

Try add UE to your cart and see what it says then.

I already own the Ultimate edition, the Steam store page reports correctly I own it and the store is so glitched that still allows to buy for me (as well as gift) the game. I don't think you have reasons to be concerned about that. ;)

It's a glitch, I already had FNV and it said I have Ultimate edition.
