I guess the thing I do the most besides gaming, is watching anime. Don't know if going to the gym/calesthenics could be considered an hobby, since I mostly do it to stay in shape.
But I like to do variety of different stuff on weekly basis, from watching movies/series to going to events, concerts, theater, making puzzles, cooking with my gf, going for walks, draw/paint, write and sing (good or badly, doesn't matter, xD). I guess I would only not consider these hobbies due to lack of time/budget xD
Edit: Forgot listenning to music. I can spend entire nights just searching for new songs^^

Sorry for the very late reply :-/
The anime fans are strong in this thread. It's quite interesting to see how the younger generations have completely embraced the anime culture while also moving away from western animated movies.
So you write and sing your own songs?

That sounds like a really cool hobby. You could even turn that hobby into money making :)
I am sorry to hear that your hobby is placed on the backfoot due to expensive prices :-/ Or has it gotten better over the last months?

I've collected loads of Records/CDs/Cassettes. No pictures because they are mostly in boxes, taking up valuable space in my basement. Mostly collected back in the 90s and early 2000s. I still buy once in a while, but nothing at all like I used to. The fun of finding things in stores is mostly extinct, most of the record stores have closed, and the ones that remain just sell all the good stuff on the internet.
I spent 2+ years ripping all of the CDs into FLAC files so I can play them digitally. Records and cassettes are a lot more difficult and time consuming, so I'm waiting until some undetermined future time to do those...

Hello Paul, nice to read you here :)
I can totally relate. Nowadays, most of my CDs I buy used from Discogs. There are some great deals out there, especially on Mainstream things. Like you, I am also ripping them to FLAC files to play them where I want, so that the CDs stay preserved longer.

Painting by numbers (you know it's the easy paintings with numbers already on canva to help), i'm really bad at painting but got gifted to relieve stress, i'm sensible to stress irl - if you're stressed too, you can try it can help while listening music or radio to not have empty-mind
Some years ago i spent time knitting plushes with clothes (not really good sorry) cause it's something i could do with physical disability. I liked to gift them to friends and family but it was too time-consuming.
And gaming. But less now because i try not overlook real life.
Hey this thread is funny, thanks for it, i liked to browse the answers !

Oh, are they those kinds where you paint on canvasy-texture canvas with acrylics? How did they turn out?
I bought a couple of sets several years ago, but never end up putting brush to canvas for fear of absolutely destroying them. Rather than relieving stress, my end goal is more to decorate my home with some "personal art" (yeah yeah don't remind me that those canvases are mass-printed with the same pictures haha).
But it's such a disservice not to touch them - would really like to complete one piece in the near future, after I dust the canvas off and un-dogear it due to unfortunate placements.
The plushie is really adorable! It's lovely, don't worry :D

I don't know the composition but t's this sort of pre-prepared kits, paint in small pots doesn't dry until it's opened but then it dries very quickly, so don't delay in using it. There is a large choice of paintings, many are original and some are from famous artists.
But final result is much flatter than the original because there is just one layer, and you don't get the original movement of the artist's brush because you paint 1 little area after the other.
Don't worry you can't destroy them, it's really thought as a "painting for dummies" method.
It's often a mistake to choose models that are too big, smaller ones are easier to find a place for on the wall !
Thank you you're nice for the plushie, it's basic but i tried to give my heart inside, yes like when your children draw you something ! :p

Indeed, these are what I'm thinking of!
Stunning picture and stunning result.
Thanks for the tip about the paint drying quickly. If not, I imagine I would dilly-dally on one piece for a long time, and would probably find the paint dried out when I came back to it. Now I'm a bit less hesitant to dig mine out and try it over next weekend ๐

i have many hobbies but usually focus on them only one at a time; they're usually something artistic or about creating, like watercolor, soy candles, painting on fabric, stone painting, chocolate making; but half a year ago i found a good place to learn pottery and since then I'm focused on that, here are some of my first creations :3

Nice! I love your creations! I think I've found my next temporary hobby. \goes to look up pottery classes\

I admire people who can create something out of nothing. And creating physical things with your own hands is so satisfying!
Hmm.. You created a mug for your grandmother, I see.. xD
The clay cat looks really adorable ;)
All jokes aside, thank you for letting us see your creations

Improv. The choice to start taking improv classes over a decade ago was one of the best and most impactful decisions I've ever made.
I see people I know on TV fairly often. Arguably, the most famous person I've done a show with was Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall. I met Kelly Marie Tran a couple of times when she was performing with her improv team Yellow Fever before she got Star Wars.

Ooohh, I love Improv! It really requires a sharp brain and isn't easy to pull off if you want to be funny for the audience. Some of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life are from "Whose Line Is It Anway...?". I am sure you know that show

It might not come as a surprise to some people here but I like movies.

Coding (Python, mostly Discord bots) - not really something that can be shown in pictures, but you can check out the repo for my biggest project here if you're a mega coding nerd and care about this at all. If you want to see her in action, join the SG Magazine Discord. ๐ค
Other than that, I like to create music sometimes. Again, not something that can be shown in pictures, but I uploaded a few WIPs here (don't mind the project titles :D):

Coding has evaded me completely. I tip my hat to you.
And everyone who creates music I cherish, as long as the music is created without any AI involvement. I liked some of your tracks, you have an ear for melodies

No worries about the slow reply! And no, I never use AI. Thanks for the kind words! ^^

I cook. I not only follow recipes, I also try to understand all mechanisms and workings of the cooking process. Hence that I can decide what ingredient I can replace with what, what changes I can make to the process to make it even tastier etc.
Unobvious stuff I can do reasonably well:
It's satisfying, to be able to cook stuff that is on par or better than restaurant stuff.

Can I say gaming is my other hobby and post pictures of my physical collection? lmao Imgur link to pictures from 6 years ago
If not, there was a period in time I collected playing cards, like decks of playing cards, standard 52 card decks. I own hundreds of decks of playing cards.

Nope. At this point most of it is boxed away these days. Unfortunately, I never did updated pics during covid when I rearranged, painted shelves, etc. Collection had grown especially since then.
I know a guy who has like 3 times as much stuff as me and he actually does do tours for friends and stuff, which is kinda funny.

Dad? It's me, your long lost son. I am writing from a new account name, so you probably don't recognize me, but I can assure you, it is me. I am in a dire situation and... XD
Awesome collection. I am speechless. I hope you are proud of your collection. I would be :)

Telly / Streams and drinking Beer or Vodka, are my favorite Hobby!
But sometime I need to go out IRL and ride my bike
Just only, because, if it stay too long unused... Accu/battery goes bad!
From Zero you accelerate... in 10sec you are in 250kmh... I feel alive!
Then i ride back home and continue my Telly/Stream sessions... :D
Life is so boring!! :P

I read a LOT, And because I have autism and anxiety, (need to do something with my hands) I do art, crochet, sewing, painting, drawing, miniatures, etc.. I get bored very easily so I tend to develop a new hobby every week. Also, I love everything to do with underwater nature( aquaculture degree), it usually inspires my art projects. (My fav games are Bioshock and Subnautica, figures). As a person, I'm a Polish hermit-lady with 2 cats, and my goal in life is to have a peace and quiet, small cottage on a farm with 3 meter fence on all sides.

Thank you for sharing a little bit of yourself with us :)
Like I said to others within this thread, creating something with your own hands gets the utmost respect from me. I am not able to do this.
Three meters fence, huh? So you hate humans. Understood ;)

Reading books, playing blues guitar (i am not a pro tho), fishing (self declared pro ^^), spending time in nature, walking, jogging, skiing in wintertime, photographing, watching movies (yes i am quite the multitasker, broad knowledge but not high). I would like to produce my own blues music someday.
I just started my own fishing blog too (but is in swedish so u may want to use translate):

Does making games count as different from gaming (playing implied, but is that exclusively)?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3177810/Alien_Video_Game_Scientist/
I also enjoy non-game related programming. It's also about 100000000% more profitable.
