There shouldn't have been any restrictions at all for that key. Nothing is even listed on the steam page about restrictions. Do I have to request a reroll or is it just Steam fucking up and will work later?

Well it depends on where you got the key, but this game can be region locked: https://www.g2a.com/?search=risen%203%20complete

there are RU/CIS and LATAM locks as usual, you probably got one of these.

It should say it on the steam store itself. That's just ridiculous.

Did you buy it from steam store?

No but the steam store itself doesn't say anything about restrictions.

Why would it? Gifting restrictions on games bought at the Steam store are completely different compared to restrictions put on keys. They would post information that is untrue for their store and is valid only for other stores. And as bad Valve is, nobody can expect a service to disclose information about other, similar services.
As for Humble, their policy is that you should buy games only for yourself or for people in the same country. The fact they even provided some detailed explanation on region locks is a small miracle, considering their previous track record of only disclosing usch information after sending a support ticket.

Sadly, it is a situation where Humble's policy is working against you, and working against you quite a lot. So, you either have to be careful and try to look for such information on key region locks, or you will continue to run into such situations on SteamGifts—especially with keys from certain publishers (and the publisher of that bundle, Deep Silver, is probably the most notorious in this regard).

😱

u got this key on humble, so why

It should say it on the steam store

Also there is only one place where u can ask "wtf with this region lock?"

Because it makes no sense to have any restrictions. The keys are generated from Steam itself. Key resellers don't just use a keygen to try to crack a steam game.

I dont think you understand how the region lock thing works mate :p

Everybody knows how region locks work. They're shitty and have always been shitty.

yeah but your comments make no sense D:
Steam has nothing to do with you buying a key from re-seller .
Like what do you expect , a massive wall of text listing all 12 million places that re-sell keys waring you that maybe you can get a key that may have some form of region lock ?

Um... i still dont think you get how that work matey :P
The keys are generated via steam and given to the devs ( or they are given a tool that generates X amount of keys ) ... which then they redistribute to the key re-sellers.
There is no way steam know where exactly those keys are getting sold :)
You ware claiming that there should be a warning ON STEAM what region that key is locked to ... which makes absolutely no sense due to the retarded amount of key re-seller sites .

No, it shouldn't.
It says it where you bought it. There's a humble article listing the restrictions.
If you knew about region-locks and wanted to ignore that warning, you would have double checked and looked at the different restrictions of the packages available.

It's my fault anyway but I didn't get it directly from the Humble Store so I wouldn't have known unless I was there. At this point I'll wait and see what he wants me to do.

If it was from HB then it should have worked. That winner (now suspended, i don't know why) is from Poland. His country is listed as fine with the Humble key for this game. If not from HB as you say here. Then it should have had the restrictions listed where you bought it.

I have no idea what happens now in regards to the suspension. Reroll I guess?

Yeah. I guess so. I'll try to reroll now I guess. Oh and It was a humble key but I get my keys from an entirely different site and system so I'll check the next time where I know they got them from from now on.

Where did you buy it from?
In humble, the IP used dictates the region lock of your key.

Your key is probably locked to a region other than EU or ROW.
Leaving: Asia, Brazil, or RU, (Following HB's list, and assuming there even is a BR package, but I don't feel like checking)

I requested a reroll now. Not sure if I should just recreate it or not. Guess I'll just have to wait.

Why look at the Steam store page when you bought the key from Humble Bundle?

you can try to reroll if that winner agrees, or just delete the GA and create a new one with region restrictions (if you can find any that applies to you).

Looks like I might have to just recreate it then since there's a high chance it could happen again.

The recent Humblebundle region restrictions are perfect examples of why multiple selectable regions/countries for games here on SG for giveaways needs to go in immediately.

Ok guess I have to just recreate it then. Had the same problems.
