You could also try to set your Steam profile to private and then to public again. Some time ago that solved problems for some, if I recall correctly.

I just had this happen myself despite having a public profile. I figured maybe Valve changed something again, so I clicked to go my settings page on Steam and change whatever needed to be changed. Then I found out that for some reason I was signed out of Steam on my browser.
After signing into Steam, the sync worked. Apparently if you get signed out of Steam in your browser, when you try to sync Steamgifts will misleadingly say that your profile is not public even though the problem is really that you're signed out of Steam.
I don't know why it does that but it would be nice if that could be fixed.

That same thing could be resolved by logging out of Steamgifts, and then back in, forcing the Steam login prompt, thereby killing two birds with one stone :-)
(As with any site that requires a Steam login and sync, rather than an actual stand-alone account and manual sync, sometimes one needs to occasionally logout and then back in)

I'm not sure why but my steam account is set to public across the board but when I got to sync my profile on steamgifts its giving me the message that I need to make my profile public? Any ideas?
