This is a cool new feature, and hopefully reviewers will be honest with their votes.
I reviewed quite a bit, and 90%+ of the negative reviews were generic, offensive, badly written or written by what seems a child. That's sad, in fact, people don't seem to use the negative rep system in a fair way.

We know, there was an announcement made about the new Steamtrades. :3

I've reviewed a few too and have experienced the same. "SKAMMAR!"

I liked the one I saw "Gave him key and Ran" probably meaning that he deleted him after he got the key but still so funny xD

I also saw a couple of funny ones:

He went bananas.

He isn't a scammer but he is not good.

Lucky there are such funny ones in there because the most I've seen were just one-liners or a few words without any prove, images, links and a lot of insults and English writing that's even worse than mine. :-)

It seems like a good feature, though i think it might not help with fake feedback coming because of impersonators :S

I tried it for a couple minutes, as you said generic "scammer" messages, badly written - difficult to understand what he/she meant, etc
I have sometimes trouble using the correct words/grammar but i didn't know that it's difficult for people to explain why x person is a scammer, have a link from the offer comment + chat image etc I think that most of them -rep back if they were the real scammer and there is no way for us to know.

A Problem is:
Sometimes there is a link to the steamrep site but I don't know if this is the link to the right User cause I can't see who will have this feedback.

i think it will be better for us to determine /review if we are given with the user's existing (+/-rep) feedback score.

I'm seeing a lot that are either:

  • revenge -rep
  • "scammer" or "cheater" (with no details)
  • being a rule breaker in terms of SteamGifts (phisher, didn't redeem won gift, tried to give away won gift, etc - nothing to do with trading)

Better yet, a bunch of people leaving -rep for being ignored ("I nicely as possible give him an offer, and he just happily ignores me") or about them changing their mind and cancelling the trade.

i just went through a few, and about 1/3 i couldn't make any sense of but the rest were specific complaints about keys getting revoked or already having been used, etc.

Hi,

After trying to find the answer by myself, all I could find was "Our system will automatically delete negative reviews if the majority of voters believe they should be removed."

What percentage and/or quantity of votes does it take to have a negative feedback removed? In my case, I got 94/100 votes to remove my only negative review. It looks like no more votes are being added for the past few days, probably because it reached the magic number of 100 votes. 94% seems like a clear majority but the negative is not gone yet. :)

I don't want to open a support ticket to answer this question, they are busy enough and this is not urgent at all, probably not even important. So I'd rather ask the community. Could someone with a similar experience shed some light on the way the system works?

Thank you!

Hey XYUSoma, no negative reviews have been deleted yet. We're going to look them over, along with the percentage of users that voted for removal to get a better idea of how the system is working before any automatic removals take place.

Thanks for your reply! I think it's a good idea to be prudent instead of rushing things. Have a nice day and keep up the good work. :)
