I have never heard of Frère Jacques but I kind of understand what you are going through because I had a poem stuck in my head for the past few days but had no idea what the words were because its technically in Urdu. But since I know Hindi and both language sound kinda the say. So I am just going to spam this trend with the poem:

Wait what, you talking about Au clair de la lune ? There is sex stuff in it, cuz people who right lullabies are weird ^^ . But no rape.
The person willingly going doors to doors get the "flame", then when Pierrot is "asleep" so he has no "pen", he go to the female neighbor because she got a "lighter" in her kitchen and she use it a lot (possible interpretation: she's a prostitute), so he go see the neighbor where they seek the "pen" and the "flame".
If you're talking about A la claire fontaine, no rape either. But another gruesome story, a girl didn't wanted to give away her virginity (her rose). So the male don't want to be her "friend" anymore, so she's sad (crying at the fontaine). There is no mention of rape.

I got taught that song when I was about 3 or 4 years old, but I was in a french school so it isn't weird at all, I have a niece who just learned it as well, it's a pretty relaxing tune and I like it very much :]

Lullaby and Nursery Rhymes aren't equivalent: =O
A lullaby is specifically a gentle song of some sort [ie, it's hummed or sang], and does not have to have any sort of rhyming components.
A nursery rhyme is specifically based within a rhyming scheme, does not necessarily have to have musical components, and in fact typically don't have any past those generated by the pacing of the rhyme scheme.
PS: I hum Frère Jacques (which is a ditty, not a lullaby or nursery rhyme) all the time (both in French and English), myself.

This is a French lullaby that I have stuck in my head that I sometimes sing to calm myself down or when I'm bored, probably horribly incorrectly because I don't know French. I don't know how I know it or how I remembered it as well as I do. I remember my mom singing it to me when I was little, but she's German, not French, so It makes little sense and I attribute it to faulty memory. Memory is weird. I was a devout Christian for 14 years, but in my 3 years away from it I have forgotten the kiddie prayers I made almost 3 times daily, but a random French lullaby I remember.
I'm gonna make a guess that Frère Jacques was a song we learned to sing in rounds in elementary music class, but it's weird that they wouldn't use the English version. Or maybe I was French in a past life. Or maybe my soul got mixed with some French kid's. Does anyone know the name for the thing similar to the Mandela effect except something big like location, language or whole life has changed instead of something small?
Sorry, I wasn't trying to make a post about pseudoscientific theories, even though they are interesting to read about, I was just talking about one of the only lullaby I still remember because I can't sleep.
