Hello! I was wondering...

The other day, (As in the first day of the Humble Bundle sale) I saw some great sales, and decided to buy Gunpoint, Monaco and Steamworld Dig on the Humble Bundle Store. However, the next day, the Humble Indie Bundle 12 started and all of them were/are now included in the bundle, which I bought. Is there any way I could contact support and get a refund, considering I bought the games right before they went in the bundle?

I know "no refunds" and whatnot, but some stores do give you your money back if you by an item and it is discounted soon after.

Worth a shot, or am I just doomed to forever knowing I made a decision I should have waited on?

(Of course the games were cheap on sale, but I do not need two copies, and could have saved a decent amount of money. Which was enough to buy Skyrim on sale. Or better yet, half a dozen+ copies of Bad Rats.)

I don't know any stores which do that "give you your money back if you by an item and it is discounted soon after" thing.

It's not quite the same, but on Amazon, if you buy some(?) items, and the price drops in the next 30 days, they'll refund you the difference.

Oh, right I heard something about that on Amazon. My bad.

Pretty sure that's never applied to digital games though. Most retailers have that policy for physical goods.

EDIT: I should note that it's different for pre-orders...pre-orders you will get refunded if the publisher drops the price before release.

Circuit City used to do it...

...until they went out of business.

I work for Office Depot, and as long as the item is within our return policy period, we do it. The only exception is for things like Black Friday sale (you can't buy the item 2 days before Black Friday and still get the Black Friday price).

Over a decade ago, I worked for a toy store, and we did it there as well, as long as the item was within the return policy window, and it wasn't part of one of our twice annual train sales.

But these are all for physical items, not digital. We don't accept any digital items as returns, period.

Golden rule for Masterrace apprentices:
-Every highly discounted game (~90%) will appear in a bundle within a few days after the sale ended.

Yeah that's why if you see a heavy discount on a non-bundled game you start a short-term giveaway (less than a week) immediately. Gone Home in the latest Steam sale, anybody?

Though luck, but there's nothing you can do. Some time ago it happened the same to me, I bought "The Walking Dead: Season 2" at full price for a dear friend as a gift, and the next day (less than 24 hours later) the game was on sale... (:P). But you know what?, although that situation can be a little annoying, I don't regret it, because my friend deserved that game and every cent the game cost.

Since you don't know when a sale starts, these situations will keep happening.

What are the odds? You can ask, why not but I'd not hope too hard.

Try, but don't expect too much, especially since they will probably send you an automated response that doesn't match your question, like the Steam support does.

It doesn't hurt to try, but don't be confrontational and don't be upset if they don't issue it. Remember, you were clearly willing to spend what you spent on said games, so no reason to be upset - you got what you originally expected, value-wise.

Thanks, that actually helped a lot. I never thought of it that way, I was willing to spend what I did at that moment, so I shouldn't be upset. Of course getting a refund would be best, but I got what I expected value-wise.

Since you bought both from them, they might give you a refund. It doesn't hurt to ask.

How much money are we talking here? Seems like a lot more trouble to get your money back than what it's worth.

I feel ya, I bought Prison Architect and Steamworld Dig the day before, also traded for Hammerwatch that evening. Only bought the first two to throw them up in some private groups as non-bundled games :-/

All good though, fun games, and ended up buying the bundle too for some pretty nice bundle gifts.

I did the same with sony on one of the PS+ exclusives (Don't Starve). It was supposed to be free but I payed full price thinking it wouldn't charge it due to being a PS+ member. In my defense it was already confirmed as free online for PS+ members but it just didn't show up in the store. Anyways, I ended up contacting support and they refunded me but it was with PSN wallet rather than my card. I'd say it's worth a try though because Sony also had a "no refund" policy and you really have nothing to lose.

eh it happens, though I was mainly waiting on the other BTA games to be revealed.

Something similar happened to me as I went and got Bardbarian from the sale but found out someone I was trading with had it (could have saved myself 99 cents)

Just think of this : You support the developer more than the people buying the bundle, besides just a couple of dollars won't make you bankrupt.

There might be something about Power Rangers of the Humble variety here.
