I know who hacked you. You're in the XFusion Community group. I see in the members list. They recently posted many announcements about free steam keys/wallet money with a suspicious download .exe file.

It was a trojan
To my curiosity I just downloaded it and my antivirus removed it immediately. Maybe use this as evidence to get your account back. Take screenshots of them posting the virus files and save the links too.

Honestly I don't know how I get into the group. I think someone mass invited random people and I just pressed join because it seemed like a legit group. Well now I'm definitely leaving it.

Happened to me also. I made a Steam Support ticket and after 5 days they told me to post the e-mail that I created the account with, because all the keys I provided them were from bundles I traded for, as I don't have any credit card/PayPal.

That sucks. Either you used the same password for Steam and your email or you didn't have Steam Guard up. You should be able to contact Steam Support though to retrieve your account provided you can answer some of the basic questions asked when you first signed up I believe. Good luck!

6you7me: What is it?

6you7me: And why should I not report you since this kind of stuff is illegal?

6you7me: This is a legal way to get free Steam games: www.steamgifts.com

6you7me: What you sent me is not

That sucks, man. Glad I saw this thread.

I'd open a ticked immediately, giving as much as information I can to support team (like which browser last logged in, when, which OS you are using, when you successfully last logged in from client, when did you discover this etc. etc.)

They will probably will ask a government ID card which the name should be same with one of your purchases to really validate you.

a VPN is a Virtual Protocol Network I think. It basically rerouts all your traffic to make it appear like you're connecting from another spot.
EDIT I'm using one right now so I can play at my university. So yeah, trust me on this: he's using a VPN service to make steam think his IP is another.

Close.

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It encrypts your data so prying eyes and ISP's don't see it.

Don't sweat it , tho. Since you've already claimed a support case on your account being stolen, I figure they won't ban your account if he hacks. They only do that when they know your account is hacked, if you get your account hacked too often for them to consider yourself "worthy" of keeping your VAC on. So chill mate =)

Was your Email Password the same as your Steam Password? If so, I would change your Email password right away (I would actually do this anyways), and when you get your steam account back, Make a long and random password (write it down somewhere if you need too).

If not, then I have no idea how they would have been able to hack your account, I mean, Unless you went to one of the sites that have you enter your steam and email Username and Password, But you don't seem to be THAT stupid.

Anyways, Good luck!

Then it is very strange that he was able to get into your account.

Do you have good Virus/Spyware protection? If you don't, get one, I recommend Avast (Has worked for me so far). If you do have one, Run a scan anyways. Also, If you feel like it, Get Spybot - Search and Destory and run a scan.

If those run up clean, Then I honestly have no idea how he got into your account.

Webroot is trash. I'd do as MadDogTen said above, as well as running S&D's immunization. Then get something with a little more bite to it, like MBAR (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware/) and NOD32 (http://www.eset.com/). And yes, I know how to create links, but for things like this I prefer transparency. Visibility=Security, IMO.

dont use webroot, its stupid, get "esmisoft anti malware" free version, and "malawarebytes" and "spybot search and destroy", if your still worried, throw in "ad-aware" and scan as well.
