Adding to the games already suggested, Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop (which I see you already have) and Left 4 Dead 2 are both a lot of fun with 4 players (Reactive Drop even supports up to 8).

While the included content isn't overly extensive, community campaigns are available for both through the Steam workshop.

Overcooked

You know you can just click the co-op tag on steam, set preferences like, price, review score, date, etc. or open up videos, right? Theres alot of co-op games i could go trough to mention that you most likely wont touch. I could name right now but im deadly tired, il get back to you tommorow if youre interested.

Me and my girfriend have truly enjoyed Overcooked 1&2, the Trine series, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Unravel 1&2 and A Way Out.
These are more casual than what you might be looking for but they are really fun!

Think of the children; Overcooked, Tomb Raider and the temple of Osiris, Stickbold.

GTFO looks cool but i haven't played it yet. also it doesn't have matchmaking (yet) so it's either play with friends or don't play at all.

other than that, the only co-op game in recent memory i truly enjoyed was factorio.
not for everybody but if it is for you...it's called cracktorio for a reason.

I`m not into this kinda games more of Warcraft 3 - diablo 3 - fallout 76 - Overwatch - WoW shadowlands are good to play will never get bored

also .. try Hunt Showdown best game ever in one-person prespective

Barotrauma, Deep Rock Galactic, Overcooked 2 (not sci-fi but extremely enjoyable especially with all 4 people.... test your friendships ;p)
