Hi guys, I want to know what are your opinions about buying and activating FC3. Is it worth to activate game on Steam and have all games in one place, but might getting several problems and toy with steam-uplay DRM or just buy on Uplay and possibly add non-Steam game to Stteam library.

I think about getting game on uplay. It has Uplay DRM so why should I add another DRM. But Steam will never die and Uplay might be closed every day and I don't want to lose my game ;_;

tell what You think

You probably mean Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon rather than the main game.

I would get it on steam. one of the last uplay updates allows you to "have" the game in your uplay library if you already got it from steam...so if you bought it from steam, you'll be able to play it from uplay or from steam without inconvinience...

By the way, even if you get the Steam version of the game, you still need to use Uplay to play it. So in fact the Steam version uses double DRM is more of a hassle to launch.

Edit: Oh. I didn't read the whole post. Anyways if Uplay's gone some day, the Steam version that depends on Uplay won't work either.

get what's cheaper for you... you will have to use Uplay anyways... and don't be scared of Uplay being closed... it won't...

If uplay closes Far Cry 3 would stop working unless they patch it, which they won't since they closed and I can hear them coming through the ceiling closer now, oh god clementine :S
P.S. FC3 deluxe steam has a bug which won't let you activate deluxe content, you need to contact support for it and not certain it will work even then

I've never had a problem with ubisoft games on steam. It launches uplay instantly (after any updates) and I play the game. With that being said I like to have all my games in a single library so steam.

I'd prefer the Steam one just to avoid having to open uplay manually

Well, I'd say Steam, because there is an overlay conflict if you add it as a non steam game.

You have to use Uplay no matter what so it really does not matter where you buy it.

EDIT
I picked up my copy of Farcry 3 outside of steam. Mainly due to it was a heck of a lot cheaper.

If Uplay closes it won't work on Steam either you know, because they both require Uplay

Whats the difference between Steam & Uplay Far Cry 3?
THE POPULATION! Uplay barley has 75 people on at night time
as Steam has around 600 at night time. That's the difference,.

See I own the game on Uplay, & I was disappointed because
at night time there really isn't a whole lot of people. I did
the research though, Steam & Uplay play on same servers. The people
I see in-game on Steam Community Hub includes Campaign/Co-Op/Multiplayer.
That's why I see more people in game on the Community hub in Steam.
But yeah to sum it up, sorry they DO run on same Servers.

I personally would just get it through Uplay, it annoying to launch it through steam, its just an extra useless step.

Also it will most likely be cheaper, why pay more for the same game?
