It usually doesn't take that long for me to get rule approval. I think I had to wait three days, once, but usually it's more like one day.

I've found that making temporary groups and inviting qualifying entrants who express interest in entering works well, since leaking isn't an issue in those cases.

You can totally do that, but if you don't get approval, the mods won't do anything if eg. you invite someone or give them the link yourself, and they later break the rule or you find out they didn't actually satisfy your conditions.

It's also a matter of how lazy you are. If you get the rule support approved, then you just need to check if the winner violates your rule. If you want to invite them into a group, you have to check every single person who posts in your thread.
