It is not THAT bad idea after all. Sometimes I like to read comments and going through 3 pages full of "thx" is annoying. And personally I don't see a difference between pressing "thank you" button or typing "ty".

There should be a hug button because sometimes I just feel like hugging everyone.

This is a great idea, it would really be useful to actually see meaningful comments and imagine someone asking "Can I enter this giveaway for DLC bundle if I own one 1 of 10 DLC" drowned in 20 pages of "Thanks" comments, that person will never get answer from gifter, so I fully support "Thank you" button and comment section for actual comments.

I think it can be a good idea if you have to solve a captcha before press the button. The captcha means that you have to lose time to press the button and not blindly doing it. Only people that truly want to say thanks imho lose time complete the captcha, or a similar protection.
Why I think is a nice idea? First, leave the comment section actually for comments and keep the page more clean. Second, how a button can be considered lazy and "ty" or "thx" no? I understand there are people here that truly want to say thanks to the community, but many people simply go with ctrl-v and click submit. Also this increase your # of comments, usefull to enter on some giveaways group or similar, because this is considered a meter for the active players. I never post thanks blindly because I think is more toxic that don't post anything at all. If I want to comment, I lose 5 minute of my life in one giveaway that ask me something like: "tell the community something you discovered today" or similar. I don't want to sound rude, but the actual system is a win-win for the leechers, instead that helps a good attitude above the community.

p.s. One of the main reason that I post few times is because I don't speak english very well, so, excuse me for the bad writing skills!
