Never played any of the Borderlands games yet. Bought the Humble Bundle and have a code for 75% off The Pre Sequel that expires on the 31st of August.

Should I buy it for $9.99 USD?

Not sure, most reviews aren't very good

Borderlands 2 is still the best Borderlands. The gameplay is the same, but the story is better and more fun.

Heeeeeell yeah. I enjoyed the hell out of the game. It didn't offer a ton new compared to previous (added butt-slams and O2 tanks) but it was a lot of fun. The story is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the series. I would avoid the season pass though, that was a dud. A couple of slaughter domes, 2 new characters and one new area. I wasn't really impressed.

For $10 it's a no brainer to me.

+1 for what Thedogma said.

The only DLCs worth getting imo are Claptastic Voyage and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 Fun + awesome glitch weapons & Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack. Because reason & stuff XD

Honestly I doubt there will even be one. Aurorable is right about the worthwhile dlcs I think. Grab the base game for $10 and enjoy. If you like it enough, get those dlcs when they hit a good enough sale

I'm not a huge fan of the franchise but I enjoyed it. In fact I hated 2 in the beginning but it grew on me so I ended up buying pre-sequel. For 10$ I'd buy it but then again, eventually it'll come out with GOTY edition with DLCs and such.

I say no, because it will be another endless dlc's money milking machine.

It had only relevant ones, then once the Season Pass stuff was released, they shut down the devs.

if you have the 10% off from the i think it was the E3 bundle they will stack.

You could also buy it for trading or see if a friend wants it or what not,to maybe not waste it.

The only dlc worth getting would be the one for the UVHM upgrade i would not waste money on the others unless it was super cheap or you really love the game if you get it

If you've never played any of the Borderlands games, they are all pretty good. I'd say the Pre-Sequel is the least pretty good, though. :)

Unfortunately I can't be sure if that's because I had burnt out on Borderlands, or if the game itself wasn't as good as the previous two. :)

If I had to choose a single Borderlands game to own, it would probably be the Borderlands 2 GOTY version, which of course does not include all the dlc. Capitalism, ho!

I'm in the very same position like you.

I guess I want to play it one day (finished BL1, stopped playing BL2 after cooping with a friend) but as always, it might get cheaper until I'll find the time.

9€ is pretty good though.

Well, it's already been out for about a year. Around this time for Borderlands 2, stores were starting to regularly discount the base game for about $10. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the same deal again for the PreSequel come the Steam Fall/Winter sale. By next summer sale, probably likely to see $10 for it and the season pass.

Though, it's unlikely that there'll be a GOTY.
And I doubt this game will ever go lower than 10 bucks anyways.

I say worth it. As good as previous titles. Not flooded with skin DLCs either, thankfully.

Too bad the devs got shut down the moment the game was done. >:(

Ten bucks is a good price, but I'm waiting for the GOTY. They really annoy me with the endless stream of DLC that you can't ever seem to get except by buying a complete edition, and then filling in yet more pieces later, so I'll wait as long as possible. Besides, I have a giant backlog and there's no point in picking up anything at this point before it bottoms in price. Anything by Paradox and Gearbox, or out of Sid Meier's franchises, gets an automatic wait from me. I really hate getting jerked around in DLC games.

If you are less patient/backlogged than I, that's seriously a good price. About what I'll eventually pay for the base game plus the bulk of the DLC, a couple of years from now.

If you liked the previous Borderlands games, get it. Ten dollars is a good price. If not, don't get it.

As another poster mentioned, there won't be any more DLC for the game. 2K Australia shut down a few months back. If and when a GOTY edition comes out, it shouldn't contain anything that isn't already purchasable.

To answer the original question, yes the game is definitely worth $10.

You say when GotY comes out, was this game nominated GotY? Because i think not.

GOTY edition only means "all-DLC" edition* this days, not that game was nominated anywhere.

It's just a synonym for "Complete" or "Ultimate".

*Actually, looking at B2GOTY or PayDay2 GOTY, it only means "some-DLCs" this days :P

When someone talks about it, yeah I will agree then, but when devs or publisher sells their game and if their game was not nominated GotY, they have no right naming a pack like that, but they can do things like Game of the Century, like happened with Saints Row 4, as a joke.

I don't know if it's something bad with PC version, but the game itself is freakin beautiful and just a little too short. The only thing that disturbed me in it was slow sniper scope, but on PC it should not be a problem :P

Cringe level humour. Weaker than Borderlands 2, which was weaker than 1. It's not bad for 10 dollars, but I'll wait until it drops to 5$ gya haa haa haa!
(wait for GOTY)
