Coupons are always nice to give away to the community, but you get more levels out of crafting at the season sale events. Basically 10 badge levels = 1 bonus level in average. If you really mean to do this to get higher levels, it is a must (unless you are rich :)).
If you don't care that much about levels, just want some badges for whatever, it doesn't really matter. As I said, coupons are always nice to give away to the community.
