Well, I was planning on giving away Sonic: Generations, but people have been saying their keys were dupes.
I want to know what will happen if my key does end up being a dupe, and I can't give it to the winner.
What exactly will happen? I'm considering removing the giveaway.

You will have to deal with a not received tag. Which is bad and you will also have broken a hearth full of desires and illusions, which is worse.

You will probably be reported and suspended, locking you out of the site for some time. Provided your key was legitimately acquired, you should have no problems...

You can't get suspended for not delivering on a single giveaway...

I'm pretty sure you can. I can refer you to people who have been suspended, if you want.

I'd actually like that. According to the FAQ, if you don't receive your win, you're supposed to simply mark it as not received, not to report the person.

I also remember reading somewhere that bans are only given out to people who continually don't deliver, not for single incidents.

You get a thing on your profile that says a you did not give a person a game and your delivery % drops.
PS: I think the duplicate key thing was just rumors. 9 keys between all my friends and we had no issues.

Of course, right when I post a response to Max.
I'll probably just flip a coin; I haven't won a game here yet so It's not like I'm missing out hugely.

That's an answer I was looking for, I guess. Someone on my giveaway page said many keys were dupes, but I know a guy who gave a dozen already and he didn't have problems. If you know of nine and had no problems, I guess I'll take my chance.
Thanks everyone else, too.

Also the community, in general, looks down on those that gain contributor value from free games, so there's that too.

1) Delete Giveaway
2) Buy a copy of the game and give it to the winner
3) Get suspended/banned! <- Yes! :D

I'd just give it to a friend, or create a simple puzzle with the key at the end instead of taking the risk.

You should definitely delete the giveaway when you aren't sure that the key works. You could also just buy the game and let the giveaway open. When you delete the giveaway you will loose one giveaway slot, when you let it open and the winner doesn't receive the key you also lose a slot and have the risk to get suspended.
