There's a topic, you can find it via google, which lists all the games that have been given away for free before, that way you can know ahead of time before you pay for anything.

always check the list before buying a game for steamgifts. Too check just try to type it in and see if it works. Sorry about your luck, it happened to me on my second giveaway and I was pretty bummed.

Why is Shadow Warrior 0P here? The image links to the right game. Is the pricing for Shadow Warrior (Classic) is being mistaken for Shadow Warrior Classic (1997)? SteamDB says the historical low price for the former is $1.49.

Shadow Warrior (Classic) got pulled from sale with the 3D Realms Anthology. Notice on the store page you linked that it isn't listed for sale, only "Shadow Warrior Classic Redux" which is actually this version/appid.
It's a confusing situation, but have a look here. There are indeed three separate versions of the original game on Steam.

Makes sense, thanks. I really don't mind it being 0p. It's the only one I don't own yet. There are a few bits of the High Res texture augmentation mods that don't work right with the Redux version, although most of the HRP stuff does. Such a great game. I know I'm old and old people always think like this, but there are aspects of level-design and just plain fun-element present in a lot of older shooters, that are pale or lacking in modern complex ones. Simple controls, fast movement, no realism. Games are getting so realistic, they don't really feel like games anymore. More like work. Again, old fart. Nuff said. : )
